    • I was wondering why there are no Saskatchewan theaters. But then I realized they just put all of the Saskatchewan theaters under PEI?

Is that the truth or just a hunch?
Anyone been in past years and can report, specifically for Toronto theatres like Yorkdale, Empress. Considering a lot of us still have dusty old VHS copies of most of these in a box in the basement, I can't imagine there will be such a rush on this. Then again, free IS free, and I've seen people line up for less...

I've been a few years. Yonge/Dundas location in Toronto with my kids. Never found it crazy busy or sold out. Probably because of the early showtimes.

Are those 5 movies are some kinda featured films only and there will be some more free movies ... or those featured movies are, basically, it?

Which one out of those five movies would you people recommend, by the way?

Gremlins is the top choice...produced by Spielberg and Directed by Joe Dante...Gizmo the main character is cute (voiced by a young Howie Mandel)...but it may have scenes too scary for younger kids when the transformed Gremlins cause some serious chaos in town. Otherwise, great adventure movie with that 80s nostalgia vibe set around Christmas time in the story.

In terms of heartwarming movies...I would go with Polar Express...a technical animated 3D achievement in itself by Bob Zemeckis...director of the Back to the Future Trilogy, Beowulf, and Forest Gump etc. Then Elf...which is a comedy movie but heartwarming story too..if Will Farrell comedy and antics are your cup of tea.

In terms of Christmas family hijinks comedy and classics from the 80s...Christmas Vacation is great focusing on a family man and his family...and so is A Christmas Story focusing on the a young boy and his family.

Either way, whatever your pick...they are some of the best Xmas themed movies ever made.

    • Looks like I am going to skip it this time .....

It's almost 2 am now ... and my wife doesn't care to go ...

And I don't feel like going by myself ... plus would have to get up early etc ...

So unless I'll change my mind suddenly in the morning ... - 95% probability that I'll pass on it this time.
