    • I really hope they do Home Alone in December.

I will be able to relive my childhood and 2.99 is probably the admission price my parents paid in 1990!

    • Do people actually go to movie theatres in person now? I thought they all closed because of Covid spread and close seating …
They've only been closed for a short period during covid, but it's not like there were any good movies the entire 2.5yrs other than Top Gun recently. And with the bullshit online charge that Cineplex added on recently, I doubt people are eager to go back to the theatres. My group of friends used to watch at least 1 movie a month pre-covid, and we haven't been back to see anything other than Top Gun.

Top Gun Maverick made over a $1 billion so yes, people are still very much going to theatres

    • Thanks for reminding me. I won't be buying tickets online if I am inclined to go to the movies. Charging us a booking fee when we are the ones doing to work to buy the ticket is not something I want to pay extra to pick up their slack for hiring less staff. Cineplex is already struggling and no one barely wants to go to the movies anymore. Adding extra fees sounds like it's trying to put the final nail on the coffin for bankruptcy.
Maybe Cineplex will die and local independent movie theatres will be able to compete again. Shout out to films.ca and 5 Drive-In in Oakville.

    • can we buy tickets on spot? i want to avoid the stupid booking fee.
I want to know which master salesman managed to convince the board that raising the prices after an abysmal 2 years of COVID sales is a good idea. I was only slightly getting warmed up to the idea of getting back to the movie theaters, but who wants to wait in line to poke at those shitty terminals just to save $1.

    • the booking fee of $4.50 was even more than one ticket for me

    • It's every Saturday...first morning show around 11am right?

How come it always say "release date" is Friday?

Booking fee seems to be $1.50, or at least in BC.
This is waived if you purchase at the counter right?

    • Do they lower the volume on the movies? Even as an adult at the beginning of the movies I find the volume way too loud. Have a 3 year old/5 year old but don't really want to expose them to hearing damage if they don't adjust the volume down.
      Get some earplugs

We went today at the Queensway location. My 3 y/o complained that it was loud for her so take that as a caution if you will.

I didn't notice it to be terribly loud or anything (in my opinion), but I did find they turned the temperature up a bit so it wasn't so cold in the theatre (Queensway).
