    • There was talk of dropping these from Netflix, so if that's a major reason you're a subscriber, this costs less than 6 months-worth.

Without checking the price history, it's one of the lower prices I can remember for the BluRay set, which is vastly superior to the DVDs.

Didn't Netflix just pay 100m for the rights to keep it?

      for 1 year only.
2 other major streaming services starting up this year, so they'll probably go to the highest bidder.

    • Just curious how this is compared to the DVDs? Worth an upgrade?

    • Has anyone ever verified whether the newer Blu ray set includes the extended episodes?

What are the other 2? There has been tons of competition historically, no one can really hold a candle to Netflix though.

Depends on how you look at it, Friends was the white noise generator in the background of teenage girls' lives back in the 90s.

I'm not sure this anesthetic is worth $70.

Nope, the 2015 version is no different than the 2012 one (just different packaging). Some episode are little longer but not the extended versions released on DVD.

Disney is one, the other might be Apple.

NBC is rumoured to be starting their own too, and might pull The Office which is what I keep on loop currently.

sh!ts and giggles aside Friends is one of 2 shows (Seinfeld being the other) I still watch today, but with all the streaming options out there, what is the point of DVDs? I chucked my DVD player 5 years back. Friends is also in syndication on lots of channels, especially MTV Canada where there is 5-10 episodes every other day.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan would never buy it. But compared to what Netflix paid, this is 99.99993251% OFF!

Their procurement team really should start browsing this site - they could save a bundle! /s
