This offer is only available to new Amazon Music Unlimited users -- Amazon Music Unlimited is a standalone music streaming service with a library of over 60 million songs, including new releases and curated playlists.

For reference, four months is the longest free trial offer for Amazon Music Unlimited -- standard trials are usually one month, while three months is offered on occasion as a promotion. Standalone subscriptions are regularly $9.99 per month ($7.99 for Prime members), which means you'll save upwards of $39.96.

Plus, Amazon Music HD is now included with Amazon Music Unlimited at no extra charge, which adds songs with a maximum bitrate of up to 3730kbps for higher quality audio streaming. The separate service was previously $14.99 per month, but now comes bundled with all Amazon Music Unlimited subscriptions for free.

    • They've been slowly taking off music that was already accessible in the Amazon library and moving it to this paid service. Typical give-free-than-make-pay attitude but that's what made having a Prime account worthwhile.

      Also happens with Prime Video and the specialty tv channels moving front-and-centre.

      What absolutely annoys me is that FireTV keeps complaining there is not enough space and keeps asking me to remove apps - obviously not giving me the option to remove Amazon apps. The Toshiba TV I have is mainly used for a monitor, and FireTV was an afterthought.

      This is not included with prime, its an extra service fee after the 3 months.
      Prime only gets us the basic service, which my kids complain about all the time.

      Amazon made its Music HD plan available to Music Unlimited subscribers at no extra cost starting today in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, France, Italy and Spain.

      Music Unlimited members in those countries now have access to more than 70 million songs in high definition, more than 7 million in Ultra HD and “a rapidly-growing catalog of 3D Audio, including songs mixed in Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA,” according to Amazon. The lossless HD songs have a bit depth of 16 bits and a CD quality sample rate of 44.1kHz. Ultra HD streaming, meanwhile, has a bit depth of 24 bits and a sample rate up to 192kHz.

      Music Unlimited costs $10 per month or $8 per month if you’re a Prime member. A family plan costs $15 per month. Amazon previously charged a $5 premium for Music HD, with the plan costing $15 per month or $13 for Prime members.

      At this moment CarPlay doesn’t work well. The app is unresponsive, will crash for no reason and sometimes your iPhone will get very very hot.

      I just opened my Amazon HD app and when I'm playing a song there's the cast option in the top right, so it will work.

    • I was just about to cancel my LiveXLive (formerly Slacker) sub and grab this, but in reviewing my sub details, I see that LXL is costing me $11.88USD\year for their full library, unlimited skips and 320kbps audio quality. Compare that to $96CDN\yr for Amazon unlimited and I think LXL is the better deal. I might get the 4 months free and do a comparison to see if it's worth the extra cost, it's going to be hard to beat LXL though.
