View allHistorically, does RBC run this promo again in the fall/winter where they give you the latest model?
It does say in the T&C:
Maybe enough time has passed that we can do this again? The newer iPads seem to last much longer and I could use a discounted replacement for this old Mini 2. Does anyone know that if we closed an account over 5 years ago (but had one before and got an iPad from it) we would be eligible to do this again? Anyone else in a similar situation?
"...no cost" - hah.

Well not really.
I wonder if RBC thinks everyone is that stupid?
Regarding monthly fees, I do passive income and balance that. That way my iPad is free for sure
Thanks OP.
Tip: Wait as close to Sep 30 as you can to limit the fees.
I still keep the account. Downgraded to Day-to-Day banking after 12-months time of account-open (mandatory period back then) and with multi-product rebate (apart from RBC credit card, some investment e.g. a mutual fund with atleast $500 account value always, should do), I have zero fees. IMO, no other bank has alerts (app/email/SMS) as good as RBC. Happy with the service so far.
When all was said and done I ended up getting my ipad for around 200$ (with the monthly banking fees factored in) but it wasn't really worth it in the end as RBC was a god-awful experience for me - be sure to research a bit before jumping at this offer, while it may sound tempting it's a commitment and I came away thinking of it as making a deal with the devil.
It's the latest of "normal" iPads.
It might have changed though, correct me if I’m wrong.
