    • Does Michelin Rebate go by Invoice Date or Installation Date? Asking because dealer put an Invoice Date of September when I put down my deposit, rather than Installation Date that falls within the below date range.

"October 3 to December 19, 2022. Purchases outside these dates will not be
      honoured."

Who do you put down as retailer on the rebate form if you buy from Blackcircles or Quattro - is it these online retailers name or the installer's name

    • Factory rebate happens every year, and with so many online tires store, u can imagine price will remain competitive next year. If it was me, I wont buy tires now and sit it in garage for a year. Of course who knows if tire inflation is there or not.
But prices are already quite a bit higher this year compared to pre covid.
For example, I check multiple places and settle with PMC as they drop the price on my tires but talking about $20 diff on all 4. Also you need to look at total including tax, some places charges environmental fee, PMC doesnt.
Not related to PMC but have bot 3 sets from them over the years and always fresh tires and fast shipping.
      True. I think I'll wait!

In GTA, its now $20-25 or even more for an 18", used to be $15-20.... sigh

Doesnt matter what size. He just charges per wheel. 100 all in mounting balancing and tpms programming.

    • Same question as above. Just changed my tires and was told I'd need new ones for next season. Should I buy some now or wait until next Oct/Nov? Looks like I can get Michelin winter tires for $800 all in (with the 12% blackcircle discount +$100 mail in rebate). I'm wondering if blackcircle usually has some coupon code for 12% discount every year in Oct or if this year is different? I don't want to be waiting for a promo next year and delay putting on my winter tires but if the same deals happen every year Id rather get newer tires next year.

    • I dont know about taking it to shops for taking in tires and rims. Look for a local garage that does it as they usually charge much less. Have a guy here in winnipeg that charges me 15 per wheel for replacing tires on rims with balancing included.

    • When buying from Quatto - online, would you then take to a shop to have them mount and balanced on rims? which would be extra costs.

How is the experience vs. buying from kaltire a local shop where i believe there are some warranties on tires and better pricing for tire changes? anyone know?

Many years ago bought winter claw tires off of RFD group buy deal for like <500 bucks with mounting.

      Have a Hyundai elantra 205-55-16

Attached seem reasonable. I heard Kumho Tires mentioned here. how do they fare vs. General Tire and other brands?

Would it be better to get Summers or All-Seasons?

Found another shop TireHut in Oshawa which was slightly better than Costco. I wanted to get them ASAP and Costco has a 7-10 business days for the delivery of the Rims, while TireHut was 2days.
Final price in TireHut was $1377 for 4 Michelin XIce Snow and 4 Steelies along with installation.

    • Quattro seems to have the best pricing with discounts right now. Least for my situation. Anyone dealt with them before? Are Kumho tires fine? Or, should I pull the trigger and spend the difference for “brand name” ones? TIA.
Kumho tires (eg. Road Venture AT52 and others) r really cheap at Quattro when using their 10% off promo code, KUMHO10 and their promo pricing on selected models. I can save $200-$300 on AT52 as compared to other brands like Cooper and Falken (all terrain tires).

I believe that some Kumho tires r made in Vietnam. They r a mid end brand.

    • When buying a tire + wheel/rim package from Quattro Tires, it says the it comes with the installation and balancing. Am I correct in assuming this means that the rims come mounted and balanced on the tire and I can just change the tires myself at home? EDIT: I found the answer to this one myself in their FAQ. I was correct:
      Screenshot_2022-11-17-04-50-48-87_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

I couldn't find this installation stuff being mentioned for Blackcircles.ca, so I assume that means if I order a tire and rim there it won't come mounted?

Thanks in advance for the help!
Contact black circles to make sure. But I will be quite surprised they don’t mount it and balance it for you, of course unless u specifically asked for it NOT to be mounted.

    • Any suggestions on Kumho, Hankook and Toyo.
Which one is better for GTA winter.
I had a set of Hankooks and wish I spent the extra few hundred bucks more at the time. Got a bulge in my tire in my third season. Maybe it was a pot hole or maybe it was a defect. I will never know.

I ended up buying a set of Pirelli’s a couple of week ago.

The Pirelli’s are so much quieter and rides much better.

Instead of spending money once I ended up spending almost double the amount.

    • Having any winter tire is better than none in the GTA but you guys don't tend to get as many big snow dumps or when you do, it doesn't last as long in the ground. I'd go for more of a slush/ice tire.

Toyos are awesome as I believe all of theirs have walnut shells ground up in the tire compound.

I've had Hankooks in the past but I found they wore down quickly (not sure if this is still the case).

Personally, I'm trying the Michelin CrossClimate2 all-weathers (snow rated) to see how they do this winter (Ottawa).
