    • Bought the same set on Jan 1 after finding out these are rated as one of the best in the class as per tirerack:
      https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyre ... type=CSTAS

Winter performance is not their strong feature though, which is fine since I have a set of Blizzaks.
Are the AS plus 3 made in NAFTA land? If it's all the same, I'd like to support my trading block.

    • Woah, you’re right. I see mine (PIRELLI ICE ZERO ASIM 205/55R16 91H) went up $20/tire from 797.92 subtotal to 877.92 with tire levy and installation included, before taxes and 150 off. Mine just arrived at the Gloucester/Ottawa warehouse but I’m sending them back….

    • My 5 cents. Bought Pirelli (Ice Zero winter tires) tires first time in my life last year, used Michelin and Bridgestone before.
I am very surprised with Pirelli Ice Zero, they are quiet and have an excellent grip on any condition of the road in Winnipeg. I would buy Pirelli again instead of other higher-priced brands.
So.. Ice Zero actually work, unlike SottoZero, the winter tire they've been selling for years? And what "other higher-priced brands" are there, winter tires literally made from caviar? Pirellis are consistently the most expensive tire available for every car I've owned in the last 15 years across 4 sizes, both summer performance and winter. Unfortunately they've also been factory OEM which is why I know they're shitty.

    • They increased the price of the Pirelli - ICE ZERO ASIMMETRICO in my size from $199 to $235 while this promo is still running 😈
Umm.. Now the price decreased to $179.99 in my size for the asimmetrico. I didn't question it and just bought it. Cancelled my Canadian tire order for the x-ice

    • This is my hope as well. Pulled trigger on the new Ice Zero Asimmetricos - newer version of the Ice Zero.

Michelin prices have gone completely out of control....
Are they really a newer version of the Ice Zero/FR? I can't find many reviews to their performance. Pirelli's website rates them higher, but that's biased.

    • I bought these during Labour Day sale and installed on Jan 6 replacing my AS Michelin latitudes on highlander.Did not noticed any difference in performance compared to Michelin. These were about 100$/tire cheaper than Michelin.
I also replaced the OEM latitudes on our Highlander with the AS plus 3 and imo, they feel way better than the latitudes. More rigid and better handling.

The Michelin's were so soft and sloppy, and they wore out so fast! Under 70K and they are just about finished.

    • Damn, really happy that I paid just 576 with taxes for a set of 4 tires! I was thinking of buying later as my vehicle isn't here yet. But bought it when it was available.

    • Bummer then increased the price. I called Costco.ca and they are denying that there was a price increase -- they said their system is showing the "new" price has always been the price. I have screenshots to prove that is not the case but they didn't want anything to do with it.

i was never worried about the performance, that more or less would be about the same. but i was told by a stubborn old man, aka my pops, that michelin tires have very strong side walls, so its less prone to puncture on the side. he insists on always buying michelin. maybe that was true at one point, but im not sure if thats still true today, and i also feel thats not a very high probability in the first place, so even if it was true, i feel like the significant savings is worth the risk

    • Any advice is appreciated
Can't really give any advice as this is the first time I had Costco's tire installation service. Service was smooth in my case, no issues.

At my Costco, most reviews seemed centered on long waiting times. Not sure what to think about that; personally I had an appointment set up/scheduled and yesterday weather was supposed to be a winter storm in Atlantic Canada; perhaps not many people getting tires installed.

    • Got the tires installed yesterday. Manager that I talked to at the appointment seemed competent. Very smooth process.

    • Thanks OP, first time buying 4x all seasons from costco. Is it better to let costco handle the tire installations? I read some unpleasant stories about their tire customer service...i'm thinking about letting a local mechanic do it instead if they have that tire machine and just get a refund on the tire installation fee. I need to put the new pirelli tires onto my summer wheels. Any advice is appreciated 🙏

      Jan 5 - Shipped
Jan 9 - Arrived at Costco

    • Can you just buy the tires with no installation?
It won't let me remove the installation fee.
People have mentioned that you can get the installation fee refunded in person when you pick up the tires.

Not sure why you think Pirelli tires would compromise your safety on the road...you can do much much worse in choosing a tire brand/model.

      Does Pirelli = Hyundai/Kia while Michelin = Honda/Toyota ?

    • I grabbed 245 50 20 pirelli scorpion strs for 1070 incl. Fees taxes on 20% sale.

I'm not well familiar with prices in general but should I cancel this and look more or this is a low as they would get?

I get costco tire centre also has its own set of benefits, but for sake of spent $ please ignore that.

      TIA

    • Is this a good time to get summer tires? Or should we get better deals later in the year?
    • My guess would be 5-10% impact in range. If you've got a larger capacity battery then maybe not such a big concern but for smaller batteries, might be more of a consideration if range is a concern (if you use it more for local stuff and you charge at home, then prolly doesn't matter much).

    • AFAIK DM-V2 is for SUV and WS90 is for regular car.
i also see LM-80 EVO as an option for my car, they are just out of stock, i googled it, it also says for SUV, wonder what the difference is...

but anyway, thats good enough for me, thanks!

    • Are you talking about Costco's 3rd party site C-Wheels?

Plenty of people use steelies shouldn't be an issue. Perhaps C-Wheels is OOS for your size of steelies.
Yes I meant on their site. I didn’t consider them being out of stock. The description of the site mentioned alloys too so I just figured that’s all they have anyways. I think I’m SOL anyways unless I’m missing something. I am NOT buying the exact stock tire size and am indeed down sizing to 16” from 17”. I have already received great advice/direction here in other threads on the proper sizing to get for the vehicle with a down size. I could be missing something but it appears you can not select the wheel you want on C-Wheels and can only use the vehicle search. Is there another option for ordering a different rim?

    • No but are you asking if anyone's run them on an.EV in the winter or as a replacement for the stock eco all-seasons?
Costco will take off your current tires and mount and balance the new ones but if you don't have separate rims for summer/winter ,you'll get charged each time going forward.
      Thanks
