I'm not sure that retailers are even obliged to divulge if something is last year's model, but in this case it likely was not. I think TLH just describes everything as past season.
      yeah major retailers in canada sell old year stock all the time.

      how about sportchek - they carry snowboard gear from 2020 / 2021 season and its not always denoted.

      i see it all the time. again my thoughts are at end of day if the product is still cheaper through altitude/TLH than elsewhere, not much you can complain about imo. free to take business elsewhere if you dont like the products, but youd be the one likely missing out on a few good deals here and there.

      saw a dope spyder ski jacket 3l gortex with discounts the other week it was atleast $250 less than ive seen it elsewhere, ever. got my helmet + goggles for less than goggles alone @ MEC for same product at same time. people love MEC.

      In both cases the item is new. The price they charge is irrelevant ... it's a business they can charge what they want. I'm not sure that retailers are even obliged to divulge if something is last year's model, but in this case it likely was not. I think TLH just describes everything as past season.

      Well they did represent the specific item as old stock on LH and that is not listed on AS.

    • The FAQ actually says that TLH is a partner site for Altitude-Sports, but that they are a completely different business. I think they are just trying to make it clear that they have very different operating models.

      I see no issue here at all as everything is pretty transparent and clearly when you buy something you know which site (and policies) apply. If you don't like TLH policies then don't buy from there.

    • I ordered the SP Igniter II and a day pack to get past 200 for shipping (when that was the threshold).
      My head is 59cm. I have always had helmets (bolle and k2) that were 59-61, so obviously I ordered the lg/xl 59-61 helmet size. It fits but it's so tight I know I'll have a headache after 30 minutes with this thing on... Not to mention no chance of a balaclava. I'm so frustrated with their final sale crap.
      And yes, I realize it's my fault for not traveling to a city with a store they carried their products but 59cm should NOT be different on any product. The boa is maxed out and it's tight on every part of my head. So annoying.
      I bought the same helmet except in M|L. I'm normally a M (57cm). The size is fine for me, but only just. I had read on a few other sites a recommendation to size up, but I thought I had by taking the M|L rather than S|M. If I was ordering again I'd probably take the L|XL and tighten the BOA and add the foam fitting thingies they include if necessary. Other than that seems like a great helmet and a good deal at the price and I'm happy with my purchase.

      Helmets are tricky cuz head shape plays a huge role in the fit. If the company designs for more oval heads, and you have a round head it'll feel tight on the sides for the same circumference.

    • Look like nice helmets and sweet colours. But looks like the ones they have with vents can't be open/closed? I go boarding from anything like -30 all the way to spring time and not having vents that can be adjustable is a deal breaker for me.

      So hard to find helmet in a nice colour (not black or white) and with adjustable vents.
      The Switcher ($105 & $136) and Trooper ($227) have adjustable vents.

      Didn't anybody on their website design team ever take an elementary school class on media literacy and the importance of choosing the right font colour?

    • I had a whole nightmare with them last year. Luckily I paid with PayPal and started a chargeback investigation.

      Long story short- I order a sweet protection helmet and some filler item to get it over $175 or $200 or something, so I could use additional coupon and get free shipping. Anyways the order goes through and a day later they say the helmet isn’t in stock (there was like 5 at the time) so cancel the helmet and send me filler item.

      I don’t want the stupid filler item and do some investigating. Ends up they pulled all the helmets off their last hunt site and put them on altitude for a higher price.

      The Last Hunt staff were useless so I did paypal charge back after 1 week of back and forth. Within 24 hours someone from Altitude reached out to me and sorted everything out. They let me purchase the helmet at Altitude for a discounted price and took a $25 credit off with free shipping.

      But it was annoying as hell, especially because they had the helmet.

      They did the same in reverse on Altitude with Merrel shoes that were on sale. Big advertised sale...still stock on the Altitude site and then they disappear. Find them on the Last Hunt site at higher pricing. Also, you receive no discounts and no expirable credits on the LH site so as I said, depending...LH may not be such a good deal. My only order ever was a Columbia shirt I had so knew the sizing was good and wanted that specific shirt.

      Otherwise...not so good

      Boxing Day was the best time to buy price wise with $50 shipping and coupons that stacked at that price point for shipping. Interesting enough some of the items "on sale" on Boxing Day increased in price even though these are inventory blowouts...prices can be all over the place.
      Boxing Day pricing wasn’t really all that good either. They had BOGO and they increased then.

      The strategy is to keep watch for items you wanna buy since they do get cheaper. This thread prompted me to look at a quartz co jacket I was eyeing recently and it went down to 60% off from 30% 2 weeks ago.

    • I’ve had the switcher and am currently using the igniter. Both excellent helmets and are very breathable. I think my favourite feature is the magnetic buckle. Why don’t they put that on every type of helmet?

      Also, I think one of the best parts about buying a Sweet Protection helmet is their crash protection plan. I had a bad fall and I was worried about the integrity of my helmet. I emailed Sweet Protection and told them about it along with some pictures and they literally sent me a brand new one for free. Huge ymmv because they usually just give you a certain percentage off your next purchase of a helmet.

    • If you are into hoka running shoes, challenger ATR6 looks like a good deal as well. Lowest I have seen in months, and don’t forget Rakuten or Venngo.
      Even though Hoka is known as being a narrow shoe brand, I find the challenger in the forefoot is even narrower than most. On the road and light trails it's not a huge problem but repeated lateral motions and twisting really has been rubbing my big toe too much. I do have a slightly wider forefoot.
