    • They are always changing their Holiday Extended Return Policy arbitrarily just like they did with their lockdown return policies. Physical stores would have one posted up that was different from the site, and both would be removed before the period was up, but not before the site would make a change for the applicable purchase time period first. Then the physical stores would insist the extended return period was over before it was, and have nothing in writing around to refer to (this is why screencaps are a must with The Bay). They also make completely incorrect stupid statements that are contrary to their own written policy, including their Holiday Extended Return Policy, like what happened with you.
      Quoting myself from the 2022 thread. The Bay strikes again this year, it's a Holiday tradition by now. Only this time, while the policy was still on their site, employees and managers at more than one location contradicted it by claiming the period started later than it did on Nov 11 (an entire month off), and by claiming the return policy was 30 days with no extended days. These people need a printer and work wifi or data plan, because they somehow are not able to refer to their own site's return policy themselves, and require screencaps on their customers' phones, or their website displayed on their customers' phones to show them what their own return policy is.

      What's also even better is that they removed "Mastercard holders" from the bolded section below that they had in prior years. Can imagine the confusion and conflict this could cause if a customer tried to do a regular card refund within 90 days based on the wording below:

      We have extended our return and exchange policy on items sold and shipped by The Bay, which are made on October 11, 2022 or later. This means you now have until January 11, 2023 (or up to 90 days* past the date of your purchase, whichever comes later) to make a return or an exchange.**

      **Standard return policy still applies.
      It's not totally clear what in the drop down area is supposed to apply to this, but the only asterisk is about the regular return period being 90 days for Mastercard holders, in which case there is no reason to remove that wording from the Holiday return policy's wording to make it seem as if it applies to all purchases.

      If you purchased your standard-size merchandise with a Hudson’s Bay Mastercard, you have within up to *90 days to receive a refund on your card with your original receipt.       Most clearance footwear, fashions, accessories, bed & bath were an extra 30% off. It was unclear if this could have been a national in-store or "this store only" promo. Clearance items were not discounted by an additional discount online.
      Downtown Vancouver is 20% for clearance. Been like that for about 4 weeks now.

      However, if the item is on clearance – it may have a different price online vs in-store or a different price between stores. In 2019 clearance prices @ the now closed Winnipeg Downtown stores were sometimes less than St-Vital and St-Vital was usually less than Polo Park.

      Hudson's Bay is understaffed and don't have sufficient manpower to do markdowns on a weekly basis when they happen. It happens at Hudson's Bay stores everywhere. Its even better when you use the self service price checkers, if your store still has any of them still functioning. In Winnipeg, the now closed Portage & Memorial store had added several self service price checkers for the holiday shopping season in 2019. On my most recent visits to the St Vital and Polo Park stores it was almost impossible to locate any self service price checkers.

    • In October 2022, INTELCOM shipped me a box with a invoice paper from the Bay but no product item. Now I'm in the middle of a chargeback with my bank because the Bay refuses to refund me because INTELCOM claims the box was the correct weight when it left the warehouse. What is even more suspicious is that the claimed weight is 2x the weight of the item I bought + box. Now I have learned to video record every unboxing so I can show proof of missing items.

      I was comparing my experience with THE BAY & INTELCOM over a year ago and your comparison was with this most recent Holiday Season. It was so awful over a year ago I spent so much less at The Bay in 2022 that I almost lost my VIP status.

    • Intelcom has been abysmal in my neck of the woods...and by woods, I mean near downtown Victoria BC. They either don't ring the buzzer and say they attempted delivery, or leave the package in plain sight on the corner of two busy streets. For me and my location, CanadaPost all the way.
      Yeah, I had challenges with Intelcom not putting things into my delivery box and tossing things cavalierly onto the top of my steps. There's a "rate our service" each time, and I just kept giving 1 star ratings. Intelcom is now much better to my address, but it took 6 months of bad ratings (and I would 5 star the occasional ones who used my delivery box properly). High rate of theft in my neighbourhood if packages are visible from the street.

      Yeah, strange. Every time they've delivered it's been at my front door and they send a pic to my email. Most of my orders were through Amazon. CP on the other hand, has been late over 80% of the time and often destroyed the packages (ripped bubble envelopes and damaged corners on boxes). Purolator has left my package at the wrong address twice and sent a pic, causing me to have to case neighbors front porches to try and see which one they left it at, LOL. Either way. This has been my experience. Maybe lucky with the local drivers. They're usually East Indian and have provided great service in my cases. Even asking me if I wanted super heavy boxes (4 rotors and 4 sets of pads) loaded right into my garage when I was outside when they arrived.
