We bought ETON ties for ~$10-$15 per tie at the Harry Rosen outlet a few years back. At the time didn't know about that brand tbh. Ties looked decent, no different than what you'd see at winners for a similar looking tie.
Friend informed me that ETON was a big deal. Didn't understand why or think anything of it, again, bc I need to emphasize that the ties looked decent, no different than what you'd see at Winners for similar looking ties and similar price.
Anyhow, we visited the non-outlet store in Yorkdale AND Sherway to potentially price compare if they carried the same product, really for our entertainment ....
EXACT SAME TIES AND COLOURS WITH THE SAME SKUs WERE ~$150 - $200.
Always knew the markup was significant at Harry Rosen. But actually seeing the markup at the regular store made me realize the margins are insane considering the outlet can exist with selling the same products at a fraction of the price. Also, tbh, made me feel that people who paid regular price were either stupid or filthy rich or both. Felt like it was a crime against humanity to shop at the regular store at regular price.
Aside and important note of why I will never shop at Harry Rosen again:
1) Margins are disgusting and I'd feel like an idiot shopping for this crap at regular price when the exact same product is being sold for a fraction of the price at the outlet.
AND equally important
2) Staff at the regular stores can be assholes. Felt this on several visits. Can't blame them I guess, min wage workers with a large part of their comp tied to selling insanely marked up garbage.
at least Harry has classic styling (for the most part), so i don't suspect this thread will derail like ssense threads do.
PS I agree that Baldassari shacket is great.
Eton is one of my go-to brands. Even with my dad bod they fit me well.
Note that the slim runs pretty darn slim on their shirts, if anybody is thinking of pulling the trigger and never tried the brand before.
Lastly, if i'm not mistaken, i believe Eton is a regularly stocked brand at the outlet in Mississauga and will be even cheaper than these prices (the tradeoff being the selection not as vast)
You can always sort by lowest price

Lots of sweaters for less than $150.
$10,115 for a plain looking fur lined jacket, but hey it's 30% off.
Edit - looks like it’s taken off but it was up to 50% before + 20%
Maybe when i become a health inspector, i can drop bills, on one of these sales, in the future :P
