    • Should have looked earlier, but it looks like Smartwool and most other brands have a similar discount as well.

    • Tempting, I'm wearing the 5 same pairs I got from The Last Hunt a while ago and they are starting to wear down quite a bit but I don't want to part with them for warranty replacement and be with bad socks for weeks.

Just noticed that it's buy 3 get 1 free on socks (including Darn Tough) at Sporting Life, along with some other promotions https://www.sportinglife.ca/en-CA/searc ... lang=en_CA

    • Huge fan of these but forgot how damn expensive they are! Got my 1 and only pair from MEC when they were for some reason clearance for like 50% off! Im sure I paid no more than 15$.....I read life time warranty.....on socks?! and had to give them a try.

Needless to say they are by far my favorite pair of socks I own...I know they have lifetime warranty but I still baby the heck out of them because I enjoy them so much lol

    • On one hand I really like darn tough. On the other we're in the middle of a recession and I should probably not be spending a couple hundred bucks on socks....

    • All my socks are smartwool and icebreaker and they usually start getting holes after 1-2 years. Darn tough at these prices are a no brainer thanks OP.

    • They really do honor their warranty. I bought two pairs back in 2016 and I sent one pair back in January because it had a hole in it. My GF gave me crap for mailing a pair of socks in an envelope. New pair showed up in ~3 weeks!

    • If you have your $30 credit from the Altitude Sports "donate $15, get $30 gift card" promo, they also have their Darn Tough Socks on sale at 20% off. If you have Amex, check your Amex Offers too as I have a $20 statement credit off of a $100 spend on one of my cards and GCR is at 2.5%

This may not be the case with Darn Tough or other sock companies with a lifetime warranties (maybe it isn't even true with Icebreaker), but here is another RFDer's post about dealing with Icebreaker's lifetime sock warranty:

      30-off-icebreaker-friends-family-discou ... 8-2359668/

I love Icebreaker products BUT but the "lifetime" guarantee for my socks only applied to one single pair. So lifetime has been reinterpreted as "we will replace/refund the pair that you purchased ONE time." If the replacement pair fails, guess what? No lifetime for you! Oh the games that these companies play...

Fair point. I haven't had my socks long enough to test that out. Something to keep in mind for sure

$10 shipping kills that deal, unless you need 8-9 pairs of XL ski socks.
Need $99 for free shipping. The 10% code "1STORDER" does not stack with the buy 3 get 1 free promo.

Well, I deceided to check with Icebreaker and if you purchased socks:

-Directly from an Icebreaker store (or Icebreaker online) they will, within 2-3 years after purchase (no idea why they said 2-3 years, is it 2 yrs or 3 yrs?), replace them (one replacement pair only, no replacement on the replacement) or within 2-3 years after purchase, will refund you (so you would obviously take the refund).
-From a 3rd party retailer like Sportchek you can contact Icebreaker direcly within 2-3 years and get one replacement pair (no replacement on the replacement), no refund option available if purchased from 3rd party retailer.

Thanks for that. Maybe follow with them requesting some clarification on why their "lifetime guarantee" is only valid for 2-3 years. Also, what they are telling you seems to contradict the details on their website - sounds like you should be eligible for a refund from a third-party retailer:

      LIFETIME SOCK GUARANTEE
At icebreaker we take pride in the quality of our socks and guarantee 100% satisfaction with your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your socks we will provide you with a new pair or a refund. Please visit your original location of purchase to receive your replacement or refund (proof of purchase is required for refunds).

    • Yes I dealt with Icebreaker warranty. I sent a picture and they just sent me a sock. I never had to mail anything in so since only a hole developed in one sock, I got to keep both and have 1 good and 1 poor.

As for second claim, yes they only send a replacement for the purchased one. At the time I bought like 16 pairs and had to send them proof that I bought more than 1 and they are keeping it in my file in case I need more later on. They never mentioned about 2-3 years limited warranty or anything.

Good thing was I did not have to send anything in so I get to keep the socks, holes and all.
