    • TT and ROTK is well worth it, especially at this price.

The first disk FOTR has a green hue throughout the entire film.

Is there a more extended version of this?

      From a review :

"I did not realise this was not the extended versions of the film until I watched them. If you are used to the special edition films, you will find a lot of gaps in the story in the original release version. Very disappointing."

    • Might as well wait for the super extended 4K ones, or the super extended plus 4K with HDR ones that will follow 2 years after that.

I'm done with buying and rebuying the same movies over and over.

there was a rumor of a super extended edition but i believe that was more of a joke. there's only 2 release: the theatrical cut and the extended edition

      That will depend on:
      1) You have a 4K
      2) You don't own the box sets already
      3) You like to continually spend money on the same box sets over and over again
      4) They do a proper transfer from the master reel and don't have annoying green hue (FOTR)
I'm done with buying and rebuying the same movies over and over.

      Ding ding ding ding!!!! +1000

    • I have this.. but have yet to watch it.

I watched the dvd extended years ago all in one go for an event I hosted.. I believe it was 13 hours long.

I picked up the blu ray set awhile back but have never brought myself to watch it again in extended form.

It is true this will make you feel like you watched the real thing.. but rewatchability is so low...

But hey.. your dollar per hour is great on this buy ;)

I will say this.. the CGI moments have never looked worse than when seen in 1080p! The real costumes and armor/weapons on the other hand looked even better.

    • ^^ Personally I couldn't bring myself to do a LOTR marathon..it's just too long but broken up over a long weekend isn't that bad.
