Name Brand Loyalties
By Kate Musgrove
October 24, 2011I'm pretty frugal (I've been working at RedFlagDeals.com for almost four years, after all) but there are a few name brands I won't give up.
- Coca-Cola Coke -- the full sugar, full calorie kind, please. I don't drink it that often, but I'd rather punch myself in the face than drink a flat, chemical-scented off-brand (Dollarama's Snow White line of soda, I am looking at you). And Pepsi is totally, totally out (mostly because it's too sweet and under-carbonated). You are welcome to disagree with me in the comments section.
- Twinings Earl Grey Tea -- I've basically become the crazy old lady who brings her own teabags to breakfast with her. In my defense, many other bagged teas make terrible, garbage-y tasting tea. Curiously, my dislike of other tea extends even to the very posh hand-picked/loose leaf Earl Grey tea blends.
- Shoes -- I feel like cheap shoes are never worth the money in the long run so I'm always willing to spend a bit more. (Even if "a bit more" means dropping $250 on a pair of brown leather boots.) I am currently wearing shoes from Artica, Fluevog, Franco Sarto and Birkis.
Where do your name brand loyalties lie?
