Ben Moss Jewellers is Closing All Stores Across Canada
By Kate Musgrove
August 2, 2016Ben Moss Jewellers, a presence on the Canadian retail scene since 1910, has announced that they are going out of business with clearance sales beginning immediately. Their press release credits the "weak Canadian dollar and the soft economy in Western Canada" for their woes. Naveed Manzoor (Chief Restructuring Officer of Ben Moss) said, "After considering all of our restructuring options, including selling all or part of the business as a going concern, we have determined that this is the best course based on the challenges we are facing."
Ben Moss Jewellers has 54 locations across Canada (down from 65 after they closed eleven poor-performing locations in May 2016). They have not yet stated how many jobs will be lost as a result of the closures.

Grabbed a good citizen watch for gift to my mom. Everything is final sale...
In an article about the closing in our local media, another company who did Ben Moss' repair work is offering 25% discount for any work needed - so at least it's something.
Just a personal story - husband got my rings over 27 years ago, engagement ring and matching wedding band. The company went out of business maybe 10 years after we got married. Nothing has ever gone wrong with them - I get them cleaned free whenever I want, and they always check the diamonds at no charge.
Thanks tips! I meant in the sense that when companies dissolve their assets they sometimes send warranties off to a 3rd party to honour. Even for a limited time. Or they may refund the extended warranty fees.
But you both provided valuable information
Why risk getting scammed when Costco has it set on both quality and price?

Education is key when buying diamonds, something every mall store sales rep seriously lacked (or actively tried to mislead)
