Free Small Business Payroll Solution from Payment Evolution
Toronto-based Payment Evolution has been getting some press recently with articles in the Financial Post and on StartupNorth.ca highlighting their free online payroll solution. It's tailored to small businesses looking to spend more time working on their business and less time dealing with the administration of payroll. Free is of course a very small-business friendly price, and it'll remain free for those businesses that have 5 employees or less. If you have 6 or more employees, it's still a very affordable $18 per month.
As far as we're aware, this is the only free payroll solution available in Canada; if you find more or other useful small business tools, please share them in them comments! -
NetFlix Canada
Netflix.ca: $7.99 a Month for Unlimited Streaming with a One-Month Free Trial to Start!
October 8 Update: Netflix.ca is adding new titles at a fast clip, so it's worth taking a look if you haven't already. In addition to the first three seasons of Mad Men (not available in the US!), they've got new seasons of Intervention along with I Love You, Beth Cooper, The Secret Life of Bees and more episodes of MST3K than you could shake a stick at. Originally Posted September 24: Netflix has hit Canada and the launch offer is excellent! $7.99 a month will get you unlimited streaming via the device of your choice and a free one-month trial to get things started. There's virtually no downside to signing up and trying it out -- especially since you can cancel anytime, online, with no cancellation fees.
While the price is great, the interface is extremely user-friendly and the unlimited streaming options (computer, Wii, PS3, iPad or iPhone) are comprehensive and convenient, the TV & Movie selection is not as robust as we'd like. Still, we've got high hopes for the program in general and at $7.99 a month we're pretty sure you can get your money's worth. Here's the fine print from Netflix: Only new, first-time Netflix customers who are residents in Canada are eligible to receive this offer. Limit one redemption per household. You must click through this link from a location in Canada to redeem the free trial offer. -
