Steam Midweek Madness: Limbo $3.99 US (Reg. $9.99 US)
If you have $5 in spare change lying around, you might want to head on over to Steam where they've put a very good indie game on sale. This week's Midweek Madness promo is Limbo for $3.99 US. Though it's worth the price of admission at $9.99 US, getting it for 60% off the cost is certainly a steal.
Released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2010, Limbo earned a ton of awards including: IGN Best of 2010, IGN Reader's Choice, GameSpot Best of 2010 Winner, 2010 Game of the Year at GameTrailers and many more. The PC version is rated just as highly and you'll spend hours exploring the land of Limbo as a boy running, jumping and solving puzzles in search of his lost sister.
As with all Steam games, it's available for digital download only.
The deal is on until Thursday at 7pm EST.

Steam: Pre-Purchase Torchlight II ($19.99 US) and get the Original Torchlight Free (Reg. $14.99 US)
If you want to get into the dungeon crawling and loot hoarding genre but find games like Diablo a little too intimidating, Torchlight II is on its way and you can get a pretty solid freebie if you pre-purchase now. For a limited time, any pre-purchase of Torchlight II will be accompanied by a free voucher to download the original Torchlight (valued at $14.99 US). This would definitely be a great time to pick up both games, especially if you've heard positive things about original but never found the right time to pick it up. If you already have the first Torchlight, you can gift the voucher to a friend so they can try it out and, hopefully, join you for the second instalment coming this summer.
The original Torchlight was well reviewed but, if you're still not sure if this one is for you, check out X-Play's review here.
Both games are available for digital download only through Steam.

Steam: Super Monday Night Combat is now Free to Play
If you enjoy PC gaming, first-person shooters and are looking for something new to play, Steam has released Super Monday Night Combat as a free download. Though this game is more akin to Team Fortress 2 than it is to Battlefield 3, it is definitely worth your time if you enjoy mindless destruction without too much strategy involved. For those of you on the fence, you can check out GameTrailers.com for some game play videos.
The download and subsequent patches are pretty large so you'll want to make sure you're not going to go over your bandwidth cap if you decide to pick this up.

Free On Steam: Alien Swarm PC Game (includes 4-player multiplayer co-op)
Free video games are always a welcome sight! Valve, the developer that has brought us big titles such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead, has released a new game for free. It's called Alien Swarm -- a top down 3D shooter where you fight your way through, wait for it... swarms of aliens. It's squad based, and supports up to 4 players in cooperative multiplayer action. There are persistent items to be unlocked by gaining levels and over 40 weapons -- pretty swanky for a free game.
The Onion A.V. Club rates in an "A" while Destructoid gives it a 7.5/10, calling it "an enjoyable shooter at an absolute steal of a non-price." We'll take it! -

Steam: Free Games for NVIDIA and ATi users (Portal, Half-Life 2: Death Match, Peggle)
Steam is offering free games to PC users with NVIDIA or ATi graphics cards. This should include most people with add-in graphic cards and those using PCs designed for games in general. NVIDIA users get Portal: First Slice (the first 11 levels of the game), Half-Life 2: Death Match, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, and Peggle Extreme while ATi users get Half-Life 2: Death Match and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast.
It is actually quite simple to act on this offer: First, go to your Control Panel and see if you have NVIDIA or ATi hardware on your computer. There should be a control panel for one of them if you have it. Depending on which graphics card you have, visit Steam's NVIDIA promotion page or Steam's ATi promotion page and click on the "Get it Now" button.
If you are already a Steam user and have it installed, you can just click the button that says so and run the program it downloads with Steam. It will automatically detect your graphics card and the promotional games install window should pop up. If you do not have Steam, click the button to install Steam and create a free account. After that, it should automatically detect your card and an installation prompt will pop up. If this does not happen, just visit the page again and click the other button.
This is a limited time offer with no noted end date, so plan to act sooner than later.
