DirectAir, a decidedly no-frills airline flying out of a handful of cities along the US east coast and southeast, is running a $79 Fare Sale -- and there are no added taxes or fees! They don't fly out of any Canadian cities, but they do fly out of Plattsburgh, NY (about an hour from the greater Montreal area) and Niagara Falls, NY (about two hours from the GTA). At this posting, there's a fair bit of availability at the $79 price point (use the "Flexible Flyer" option for easier booking) and at checkout, the $79 ticket is truly just $79.

From Plattsburgh you can fly to Ft. Meyers or Lakeland, Florida or Myrtle Beach. From Niagara Falls you can fly to West Palm Beach, Ft. Meyers or Lakeland, Florida or Myrtle Beach. If you're considering going on a cruise during March Break, over at Travelocity, they're running their "2012 Cruise Super Sale". You learn the location of the hotel, the number of stars it rates, and the price per night, but you don't find out the name of the hotel until after you book. Normally that might concern us, but when Hotwire is offering a 4-star hotel in the area of our choosing (and they're offering it at a 2-star-price), we'll go ahead and book.

We have really just begun to scratch the surface of the tremendous amount of deals available at Hotwire.com lists hotels in hundreds of cities all over the world. You can search without any obligation to buy, and at these prices, we wonder how you could ever pay full-price for a hotel again. Hotwire.com is a US-based site that bills in US dollars, but offers hotels in Canada and accepts Canadian credit cards and billing addresses.
