From Friday, November 21 to Sunday, November 23, Home Depot will be holding a "Wrap Up the Savings" event. This is an in store promotion with some hot, one day only deals. - Looks good, except the remotes seem to have only one button each, meaning you would have to carry 2 or more remotes in your car if you want to control more than one door. But for $100, it's probably something most people are able to overlook.

  uhh...if you have 2 garage doors, wouldn't you have one in each vehicle to open their corresponding parking space?
  
  anyway...you can set the security code to be the same for both doors if you want....then both will open from either remote.

  buy it now in store at regular price before the sale starts Saturday because they might sell out fast at this price, then go Saturday to customer service and get the difference refunded.

  chain drive is a lot noisier, some Home Depot's have powered units setup so you can compare for yourself

  I have a 12 year old 1/2 h/p Chamberlain on a steel insulated 18 X 7 double wide door in Winnipeg. Still works just fine. The trick is to ensure the door is properly balanced. It should require very little effort to raise / lower it - thus a 1/2 h/p is MORE than adequate.
  
  I suggest getting a 'pro' to go over the door every few years as they know what to look for. You don't want to mess with the tension springs or cables unless you know what you are doing.
