- From what i'm told TV shows in HD are broadcasted at 720p (or 1080i which is more or less the same thing). So either they shoot them higher in 1080p and will look sexier on blue ray then you can get on TV or they are sticking 720p versions on blue ray disks.

  These discs are all 1080p so I assume they shoot them at 1080p or higher and just broadcast them in 720p.

  I hope so. The disks may very well be 1080p but is the actual video? It's always lowest common denominator with technology.
  
  I remember picking up a few DVD's early on that were mixed in with all the rest making you think they were actual DVD quality movies when in fact they were little more then VHS slapped on a DVD disk. Mind you, 720p isn't exactly terrible and still worth the price if your a fan

  Pretty sure that the source was at least 1080p. All reviews say that the video quality is very good.
