Unlimited Monthly Data Plan for Bell Mobile Connect - $75

Bell is now offering an unlimited monthly data plan for their Mobile Connect service for the price of $75 a month. If you travel a lot and require mobile internet access, this might be up your alley. To be clear, this is for your laptop computer, not your phone. However, be aware that the fine print states that "unlimited data" is "subject to acceptable use restrictions in Terms of Service, including but not limited to consuming excessive network capacity or causing our network to be adversely affected."       I now pay 60$ for 25MB ... what a scam.

      I think it has to drop, in order to sustain and grow the business in this country. They should be looking at dollars generated, rather than profit margins. All things being equal, I would think that it would be better to have 10 subscribers @ $50/mos, versus 5 @ $100 per month. Spreading out the costs, and having a lot of people are going to help them finance the infrastructure, and aid in hardware sales, where they may also have an opportunity to get some money...incentives/kickbacks.

      With new toys like the Iphone and other like it, the data plans have to come way down in order for that type of hardware to show growth and survive. That said, we are such a small piece of the puzzle, that we may just get written off anyway...haha

      Typical corporate mentality....we pay more because we are Canadians....we're used to it, so why change the formula. As this dollar gets closer & closer to the USD, our willingness to get ripped off on a daily basis seems to be diminishing rapidly......with me anyway.

      Portable Internet's modem is huge (not something you can lug around easily) and coverage is limited to large cities. Reception with portable internet is not the greatest either. Until Bell/Rogers start offering WiMax PC Cards, Portable Internet will be the "poor persons" choice to wireless data

      Cellular data while more expensive is more reliable and comes in a smaller package (PCMCIA).

      Not the same service. The Inukshuk service you are talking about is for "Nomadic" not "Mobile" service. Big difference. there is no PCMCIA modem for Inukshuk. You need to plug the Inukshuk modem into the wall. Inukshuk is not WiMax. It is pre-Wimax standard

    • Rogers is definately a scam when it comes to data rates as well as sending anything data intensive like the multimedia and photo messaging on phones. The only way to get that feature is to subscribe to the $20 communicate pack! Telus and Bell offer this for half the cost.
