Originally Posted November 21: TigerDirect.ca is talking up Black Friday at little bit early with some pretty hot weekend specials. Here's a few deals we picked out:

The Philips Gaming Sound Bar in particular is a pretty interesting product. It's basically a 2.1 speaker setup that's trys to mimic surround sound. The wireless sub is a nice touch, just to keep things clean. Couldn't find any extensive professional reviews, but there's a short one on Wired.com that compares it to other sound bars where they give it a 7/10. That's based on a MSRP of $300 US though so for $160 Canadian funds, it might be worth another point or two.

- I am looking at one right now, had it for about one month. Got it because my son recommended a bigger monitor to open more screens at the same time. Great picture. I also upgraded my video card and kept the old monitor so now I run two monitors highly recommended setup

- One of the reviews on second page says it was "a great buy at $189". Unless the reivewer accidentally reviewed the wrong product, it may have been cheaper than $209. If so, it will certainly drop in price again.

- Actually TD.ca shares the review section with TD.com, that is why reviewers are talking about the $189 price.

  Ack... Stabwound already covered it. Anyhow 1920 x 1080 isn't bad for a 25" monitor. Anything above will really really cost you.

  Depends. I find having lower resolution is better because you can set the monitor a bit further away. Thus, your eyes get tired less. In addition, you have deskspace for documents/etc to be put between you and the monitor. For me, 1920x1080 feels much better on a 24.6" than on a 23".

  6 ms response time vs 2ms (i-inc better)
  but
  500 cd/m2 brightness vs 300 cd/mÂ² (acer better)
  acer has no speakers, i-inc has speakers.
  the one you linked to is refurbished though and this one isnt, plus it seems to be a lot more expensive for one more inch.
  also depends if youd rather 2 hdmi/vga ports(i-inc) vs. dvi/vga ports(acer), but that can be fixed with adapters as always.

  Yeah. I looked at the pictures and just ordered it. I was wondering if I needed dvi - hdmi cable but it comes with one so it's all good

  I guess it comes down to personal preference, but I love my Dell 23" at 1920x1080, I prefer it over 24" screens and I can't stand 27" screens at that res. But then, I have a 1680x1050 laptop screen (15.4" laptop) as well.
  
  I've been thinking about moving to a 2048x1152 23" at work for this reason (it's a shame they don't make 24" screens in that resolution, they'd be nice).

- Mine just showed up today. UPS left it in my backyard so I had a friend go and pick it up. There's a hole in the box so hopefully it hasn't done any damage.
