We've already mentioned Sears.ca's Customer Appreciation Day promotion, but we've done a little more research and found a pair of TV deals that look pretty good when you put them together with the Customer Appreciation offer, which is a $30 e-Cash card when you spend $200 or more.

First, the Samsung 52'' LN52B610 120Hz FHD 1080p LCD HDTV is $1764.99 when you use coupon code 941618868. If you buy it today (that's where the Customer Appreciation promotion comes in), you will receive an e-Cash card at the end of November worth $30 that you can put toward a future purchase. That would bring the price to about $1735.99. For comparison, this TV is $1999.99 at FutureShop.ca.

If you're looking for something a little smaller, they also have the Sony Bravia KDL32L5000 32'' 720p LCD HDTV for $499.88. Factor in that $30 e-Cash card and you're looking at a price closer to $470. Per PriceCanada.com, some other retailers are selling this for closer to $600 right now. BestBuy.ca has it for $549.99. We've definitely seen 32" LCD HDTVs at lower prices, but if you want a Sony Bravia, a higher price comes with the territory.

  That would be a PN50b540 which is PLASMA and not LCD. Plasmas are usually quite a bit less than LCDs, especially 120hz LCDs. Good deal op, there are usually Sears coupons in the coupon section. Might wanna check that out to sweeten the deal a bit.

  Hmm I am with you on that one too, I am in need of a second TV, but that can wait.

- I pulled the trigger on this deal after researching this exact model for about a month. This is the cheapest price I've seen to date and Sears is an excellent company when it come to customer service/satisfaction.

- Even if you were to pay tax on the entire total 1,764.99+60.00+3.00X1.13=2065.63
  
  You multiply by 1.13 because PST+GST is now 13% in Ontario.
  
  EDIT: I just checked my own receipt and they are charging too much PST. The only thing I can think of is the "Eco" fee but it should be listed as a separate charge if that's the case.

  you could get it as low as 1779 and you get Futureshop's price protection until Jan 3 or something like that, if the price drops further.
  
  Edit: YMMV but FS may even accept the Sears coupon and still PM, so you might get it for $1,755 or so depending on the CSR/Manager

  I agree, Sears is TERRIBLE for customer service. Expect restocking fees on almost anything you want to return. It's their new policy.

  The 650 is guaranteed to have a S-PVA panel (S-LCD), unlike the lower models that use a "panel lottery" system, and could also have A-MVA (AUO/AU Optronics) and S-MVA (CMO/CHI-Mey Optoelectronics)
  Look for the letters S,A, and C appearing on Samsung TV. Usually you should be aiming to get the Samsung panel (SPVA), then AUO, and lastly the CMO panel.
  
  *The 'Version' on the sticker can indicate what panel you have (at least what panel that set should have)
  Anything starting with the following letters on the Version is:
  S = Samsung
  A = AUO
  C = CMO
  At least this is how we add some definition to them;
  S= Super
  A= Average
  C= Crap

  actually its the other way around, lol. For example the 50v10 is 2k, similar lcds, or leds to specific, cost 3k. If you go to the states, where pricing is reasonable, a 50g15 goes for around 1200, a similar lcd, the b750 is almost 1900.
  
  btw i dont want to detract from the thread, the b610 is a good tv! but it might be better to wait till boxing, im sure either the b610 will drop further in price along with the 650, or who knows the b750 might drop below 2k.

  According to Archer23, the PN50b540 was $1230 a few months ago. Please tell me where the LCD equivalent LN52b5XX was/is less than $1230. I will take 2, or possibly 3. I'm dead serious... I want to buy 3 TVs RIGHT NOW!

  This year, every set seems to involve more than one panel including sets higher than '630'. (Based on all 2009 CCFL-LCD Lineup)
  
  At some point one has to stop nitpicking at every possible pitfall or we'd never buy anything, lol.

- I went and purchased this unit from future shop today - ended up getting it for $1750 plus tax so I'm pretty happy with that price plus I get the price guarantee until January 3 should it go on sale
