Newegg.ca's has an interesting Shell Shocker offer for anyone who has been trying to find an SSD deal. The OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - Retail is $119.99 before a $40 USD mail in rebate. Shipping is about $10, which is a little more than we normally see for Shell Shocker deals, but this is still the best price around for this OCZ SSD. Check with PriceCanada.com to see what other retailers sell this for. Note that the rebate comes in the form of a Visa Prepaid card.

- The info on newegg says it has a lifetime warranty, which didn't sound right. Turns out it's only 3 years.
  This would be a better value, and also you won't have to bank on the rebates.

  Kingston has released their SSDNow V-Series Solid State Drive, specifically targeting the entry-level consumer that may be looking to jump on the SSD bandwagon. But this drive comes with the infamous JMicron controller, notorious for stuttering problems. However, Kingston is confident they've eliminated the problem. Have they?
  
  If I was going to recommend a $150 ssd, theres nothing that touches the Intel X-25 which is the No 1 ssd.

  That's a Gen 1. At least read the right reviews. And it didn't stutter btw.
  
  Gen2 is a Toshiba controller with onboard memory, no stuttering, + trim support.
  
  This is if you want a larger size drive. Intel's are way better.

  dunno why, its not hot, was 75 dollars at NCIX last week.
  
  There are no such thing as sales.... this is discounted cus it attracts a very small audience. Mainly desktop users who want to just put there OS on it. And people in the know realize that these drives are now soon to be outdated when the newer drives come out with the faster speeds and better controllers.
