- I bought this card from Direct Canada last week. It's great. Here's my cost on it:
  
  Card $83 + Ship $1 + Tax $4 (GST Ontario) = TOTAL $88 - $35USD (MIR) = less than $50 (won't know exchange until after I get my rebate cheque and deposit it). You can't get a better card for under $50 delivered to your house. I'm running a 700 GPU clock and 900 on the memory completely stable. Based on lincolns post, I'm going to try to up the mem clock tonight when I get home. Thanks!

  I have a 7600GT from BFG in my main rig, I don't game at all but I do watch a ton of HD and since I have a high res main monitor as well as a 32" LCD TV plugged in I find the fan on my card spinning at a higher rate (with the 2nd monitor enabled). Although I have gotten used to it, I find this deal quite good and the card does great HD acceleration (I don't really need it as my cpu can handle a couple hd contents playing at a time) but its nice to have.

  No, what you really need is a passively-cooled ATI 3450 or the newer 4350 ... They are very inexpensive too ...

  The Asus version of the 8800GS was designed to be super quiet. I'm not sure about the other brands. I have the Asus 8800GS running in my computer and there is barely (if any) increase in noise.

  Although the ATI cards are better, the price for this one can't be beaten. Lol, my first Nvidia card (after going through like 5 ATi's). This one is quiet also according to the reviews. Hope my seasonic 380 PS can handle it (it should).

  I am sure you can overclock your GT to make it even faster but we're talking bang for the buck. So yes, an OC 8800gs is as fast as the GT. Can't wait to get this card.

- I believe the maximum speed is at 680MHz when overclocked.

- This 8800GS card (overclocked) will perform similar to the 8800GT (not overclocked). But it's not as good as a 8800GT since it has less RAM (384 vs 512), lower bus width (192 vs 256), and an 8800GT can also be overclocked (outperforms the OCed 8800GS). Also, keep in mind that although the techpowerup guys got the memory up to 1GHz for the eVGA card reviewed, it had active RAM cooling that the Asus card does not. YMMV with overclocking.

- I have the evga 8800 GS, there is alot of headroom on the 8800GS for OCing. Even without OCing the card is plenty fast for modern games.
  
  Based on performance I would say that this card is worth close to $100. There really is no card less than $100 that can match the speed.
