    • The main problem I can see with ordering any laptop online, rather than purchasing it in store, is dealing with defects. Especially in the case of dead/stuck/hot pixels, it is much easier to have that dealt with from an in store location, at least in my experience.

      And having gone through 5 245BWs, 4 PSP Slims, and 2 EEE 701s, I'd probably pay the extra just being able to quickly exhange with a store.

      However, most people seem to have a lot better luck when it comes to this than I do.

      Wow....thats a lot of defective equipment. Maybe the problem is something else.

      Its valid at every store except Staples, BB, FS, LD, etc (speed reading so i might have missed something).

      Note for anyone buying this, 512mb ram is not enough for Windows. There is an empty dimm slot but its hard to access (pretty much got to take it apart) so be prepared to spend a lot of work if you plan on installing XP. There is an XP home version coming out soon @ 429.99 (MSRP = 399 USD) with 1GB ram (512 + 512). Might want to hold off for that if you don't want to spend extra work.

      Also a 449US MSRP version is coming out with 1GB of ram, 6 cell battery, and Linux (not XP). My guess is CND pricing will be 479 but thats just a wild guess. The 6 cell battery = 111 (regular price @ NCIX) but only preorders right now. Somethings to consider if you can wait for the netbook... (and i'm not even talking about Dell e which is about to release).

      You can use the rebate if the printer is not purchased at Futureshop, Best Buy or Staples. BTW, Anitec doesn't seem to carry the printer.

      NCIX is showing the A150x model with 6cell for $429 (XP Home, 120GB HDD, 1GB) pre-order.

    • So on a scale of 1 to 10, (10 - highest) where do you think this notebook rank? Do all of the systems offer a choice between the Linpus and XP OS?

      Also, does anyone have experience with Compu2000.com? I have never deal with them before.

      MSI has distribution problems in Canada in that honestly, they don't care about the Canadian market. Even NCIX only got a handful of units.

      I'm waiting for the Dell E myself in Aug/Sep and will see what prices will be like then.

      I believe these only have the 3 cell batteries. Better to try and wait for the 6 or get this now and purchase the batteries later when it eventually becomes available. On another thread, there was talk of a battery shortage.
