TheSource.ca: Nexxtech 1.1M Lightweight Camera/Camcorder Tripod $9.96 w/Free Shipping
Because camera equipment doesn't end with lenses, filters and bags, TheSource.ca has put a Nexxtech tripod on sale that's worth looking into. Right now, you can pick up the Nexxtech 1.1M Lightweight Camera/Camcorder Tripod $9.96 with free shipping. While probably not as feature-rich or as heavy duty as other tripod brands, this should work well for those of you with a smaller entry level DSLR for indoor use.
With a max load capacity of just under 6 pounds, we wouldn't expect it to support a full sized DSLR with zoom lens. On the other hand, if your setup isn't that heavy, this is a pretty affordable no-frills tripod. It features a three-way head and quick release plate, non-slip feet, lightweight construction and comes with a carrying bag. For $10, we'd take a chance on it as a tripod for family gatherings and parties is invaluable.
The deal is live now and shipping is free using the coupon code TS499 when prompted.

Future Shop: Asus EEE 10.1" 16GB Slider Android Tablet w/Built in Keyboard $299.99 (Final Clearance)
Here's one of the more interesting tablet options to come along recently! Future Shop has a final clearance on a number of previous generation tablets, and there's 1 in particular that catches the eye.
The ASUS 10.1" 16GB EEE SL101 Slider Android Tablet (Mocha) is down to $299.99. The "Slider" portion alludes to the built-in slide out keyboard. The remaining specs are quite good as well -- 16GB internal storage, 10.1" IPS 1280x800 touchscreen, Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHZ dual core processor, microSD expandability, 5MP rear camera, 1.2MP front facing camera, and more. The EEE Slider ships with Android 3.0, but there is an official update to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) available.
It looks like this tablet has a lot to offer. The only thing to note would be that it weighs more than your typical tablet on account of the built in keyboard. It weighs in at about 2lbs. If that doesn't sound like a problem for you, then you should act quickly as there are only 10 in stock online as of Sunday morning.

Dell.ca: Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor w/Kinect Adventures! $109.99
Summer is finally here but if physical exercise isn't something your kids are looking forward to when school is out, maybe they'll have a little more fun with a video game. Right now, Dell has the Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures! for the Xbox 360 on sale for $109.99. While not the absolute lowest price we've seen, it's still a decent buy as its MSRP hovers around $150.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Kinect peripheral, it tracks your movement as you dance, jump, run and play through various games on your Xbox 360. A couple of our favourite games include: Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Zumba Rush and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 which are fun to play and are great for getting in shape. To learn more about it, you can check out the Microsoft page here.

Future Shop: Sharp Aquos 32" 720p LCD HDTV $299.99, Insignia 24" 1080p HDTV $169.99
If a big 50" or behemoth 60" HDTV isn't in your future and you want something more modest, Future Shop has a couple of reasonable options right now.
On the name brand side, you can get a Sharp AQUOS 32" 720p LCD HDTV (LC32D59U) for $299.99. While we've seen more aggressive pricing on value brands, 32" for $300 still appears to be the sweet spot for name brand offerings. The Sharp LC32D59U has 4 HDMI inputs, has a customer rating of 3.8/5 and comes with free shipping.
If you're looking for an even lower price, you might consider the Insignia 24" 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV (NS-24L240A13) at $169.99. The price and size makes it a nice fit for a kitchen or dorm. It has 2 HDMI inputs, VGA input, and 1080p resolution, so in a pinch, you could use this as a display for your computer as well. At the time of writing, only 15 more of these are available online.

Future Shop-Downtown Toronto
Future Shop: PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi Console w/ModNation Racers and Carrying Case $249.99
Tech junkies who haven't yet picked up a PlayStation Vita might want to consider this pretty good bundle offered right now at Future Shop. Until May 31, any purchase of a PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi Console will come bundled with a free carrying case and ModNation Racers. The PS Vita deals have been less than stellar lately, but this might be the bundle that gives you enough incentive to make a purchase.
If you've played ModNation Racers on the PS3, chances are you're going to feel right at home with the controls, bevy of customization options and the lengthy and addictive campaign. The one downfall of this game, however, is that there's no online multiplayer - a shame considering that's where most of the fun from the previous games came from. Still, if you can look past that and the average load times, this is a fine addition to your new Vita library.
The deal is live now but will expire at the end of May.
For those of you ordering online, free shipping is available.

Dell.ca: Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550 $29.99 w/Free Shipping (Reg. $51.99)
For those of you who like to watch TV with your laptop, you may have noticed that having it placed squarely on your lap isn't very comfortable. Sure, you might be able to put up with it in small spurts but the heat generated from the battery and fan can make it unbearable pretty quickly. Thankfully, Dell.ca has put the Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550 on sale for $29.99. At a normal price of about $50, we might pass on this but for $30 it's worth a look.
First thing's first, this can only accommodate laptops up to 14" in size. Any larger and the laptop might not sit well or cover up the external speaker ports. If you do have a laptop 14" or smaller, though, this lapdesk has some nice features you might like. In addition to the aforementioned speakers (which most lap companions don't normally have) it features soft air-mesh fabric, volume control, plug-and-play USB connection and has a heat-shielding design to keep you cool while working or watching movies for prolonged periods.
Shipping is free and more information can be found here.
