These are premium ThinkPads, so don't expect base prices of under $1000. The X series is made for ultra portability, and the W series are workstation laptops (ie. geared toward CAD use).

That being said, we see some good deals in the mix, particularly on the ultra-portable X200s. The base configuration is $1176.75 after coupon and that gets you the following:

A big highlight is the WXGA+ display... you don't see 1440x900 on a 12.1" laptop very often. It's also very light at approximately 3lbs (only 3.3lbs if you go up to a 9-cell), and battery life (according to LaptopMagazine and NotebookReview.com) is excellent.

The "Elite" X200s Configuration at $1274 after coupon is a very good value as well. $98 more gets you Vista Business (and the option for an XP "downgrade"), an additional gigabyte of RAM, Bluetooth, and an Intel WiFi Link 5100. That's cheaper than upgrading the base configuration if you want those upgrades.
