Anyone know what wattage the regular old-style xmas light bulbs are? I want to calculate how much it's costing me to run the strings I have up.

a string of 70 5w will be 350w new LED's are about 4w, for a whole string of 70 or 100 not as bright as old style but u can use alot more and not worry about breakers going off and much easier on the wallet. |

Damn, so assuming 7w, I have about 1000w of lights up right now! I only leave them on for four hours a night, though, and only for a month, so not a huge deal.
I'll have to switch to LED next year, and I think I'll take out the flood light I have tonight. |

I have 4X 75 LED 's they should cost about 20 cents a month for 4 hours a night. I tend to leave them on more since its so cheap! |

The electricity savings printed on the boxes of lights usually refer to California prices, of 12-15cents /KwH.
