I won an Xbox and gave it to the kids for Christmas. They love it but the instructions at the beginning appear to be in Chinese and I don't know how to change it. I won it at Safeway so I don't think it's a machine from another country or anything. Is there something I can select to change it back to English? The only thing I can make out is the words Xbox live. On a main page that pops up there are 4 selections, I can't read the 1st, 2nd or last but the 3rd is the one that says "Xbox live"
I also bought an aftermarket thing from Ebay that allows the Xbox to play DVD's--could that be what is making the Xbox Chinese??? Once a game is in it plays fine, the game is in English and everything, it's just the beginning screen that we can't read at all. Any suggestions?? |

From the main menu, pick the lowest option ("Settings" in English). Then, pick the second option from the top ("Language"), then pick the top option ("English"). That should do the trick.
It's nice to know that "Xbox Live" is the same in every language.
