Default WTB: -----Nikon 18-200mm VR and Tokina 12-24mm

Lemme know if you have either of those two lenses for reasonable prices!

Cheers, Ronnie

Default Back Order

The 18 - 200mm VR lenses are really in short supply. Kinda hard to come by. However I did see a few on e-bay.

Strange though. eBay costs more than if I bought it retail at Henry's.

I'm looking for the 18-200mm myself. Although dropping $400 more than a non-VR-II like Tamron or Sigma (ugh) is nuts... I've tested the Nikon and seriously... hand held at tele nice. Plus, it's faster than the 3rd party.

EDIT: The other thing to think about is... this is going to be my vacation lens. Do I trust to go out with a $900 lens or a $400? Tough choice.

the 18-200 has lots of things that suck about it.. distortion, creep, etc. Mine is on the camera more often than not though.. the versatility + VR is a winner for sure.

OP: How much are you willing to spend? The 18-200 is impossible to find at retail (which will be over $1k after taxes) so what budget are you entertaining in order for someone to sell you theirs?

Default Nikon 18-200mm VR

Dropped into a Black's in Mississauga the other day and they had one on display. They had no idea how rare they are. Near Britannia and Mavis. Also saw one just yesterday on Craigslist or somewhere - the guy was asking $900. So they are around.

I know how rare they are.

That's why I'm hoping to find one used.

I've budgeted 1000 dollars for one.

Cheers!

PST: $72.00
Discounts: VISA Perks Savings -$25.00
Grand Total: $1,000.94

I listened too, then laughed when I called Vistek and they told me there are five on hand. Confirmed they are the (only) 18-200 VR ED lens Of course, being RFD, I immediately searched for a coupon and found one.

Meaning would you want to travel with a lens this valuable? I think the DSLR already garners alot of attention... and what's the point of having nice glass if you're not going to use it?

Well I've ordered the Nikon. The benefits far outweight the cost compared to the third party lenses. To places like Cuba, I'd just bring the Xacti C6, but I'm going to Europe so the D200 is coming with... yet don't want to tote the entire camera bag

Local store? what is the name? why don't you help the ronniefung to get it, maybe give him more information where they located and phone number.
