Default Would you guys buy from sellers with low post/feedback ?

Say you wanted to buy something in BST and the seller has no or very little post amount, no heatware/ebay record and no BST review, what would you do ? Lets say buying from an other seller is not an option and the amount is $4-500.

doesn't even sound like you really think that, just that you're trying to find something to post so you can work up your post count..

anyway.. i wouldn't mind dealing with people with low / no heatware / ebay feedback.. but if it's dealing with so much money then i'd much rather prefer feedback. if it was less than 100.. i wouldn't mind

no, i personally wouldnt. i personaly do local trades only, but if the right price came up, and the seller has good feedback, only then i might consider it.

Depends. I'd do my homework no matter what, meet up or shipped. If its shipped, and you REALLY want it but aren't sure, then you should get as much verifiable info from the seller as possible. Name, address, phone number, email, bank account number, etc. You could pay using EMT and withhold the password until you receive the item, or pay half right away and half when you get it, etc.

I dealt with a new trader in the past that was selling an item valued at over $400 and he was willing to ship first. The Item was new in a box sealed so if they are willing to ship first by all means. On the other hand if they insist they want payment first I'd be very cautious. I would want phone number and personal info.

Ship first or meet up locally (at their home/work, not in a neutral location). That's the only way I would buy from someone with little/no feedback.

I bought my laptop on RFD from a new user with 25 posts and no feedback. He agreed to ship to me in return for a small deposit on the computer. We traded and verified contact info.. and everything went just fine.

Be sensible about shipping/payment and too-good-to-be-true deals, and you'll be ok with new users. Heck, half the posts about trade problems lately have been with sr. members gone bad!

Just be careful and you'll be ok. If a new user is not willing to compromise on shipping/etc, don't go through with the deal.

i purchased my laptop off of a newbie RFDer.

It was a local deal though and I fully inspected everything. He even had receipts with addresses and I met up with him at his workplace.

I personally wouldn't do it if it was shipped. Local only.
