I'm picking my daughter, whose flight is scheduled to arrive at 5:45am tomorrow. Since she is an unaccompanied minor and has a big box and a luggage to pickup from the carousel, we may be asking the airport personnel if we can help get them off the carousel.
She will be arriving at Terminal 3 but since I rarely have to pick a minor up, I'm not sure where I should be parking tomorrow since it may be a 1-2 hour wait. How far is the reduced rate parking lot which with the coupon below is a reasonable $11.20/day and mentions this LINK train service that operates 24 hours a day? How bad is the ongoing construction? http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/ai...uced_rate_lot/ I don't want to appear cheap to my wife but 2 hours wait = $28 at the Terminal 3 parking lot but then again, it's so early in the morning that I know my wife and daughter will appreciate the shorter walk. http://files.me.com/michael.wilkes/c0vxye --> thanks to mrcantrell http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/ai...ation/parking/ I can use the cellphone parking lot in the meantime and then head to the Terminal 3 parking lot once the plane has touched down but then my wife's concern is that if we arrive when the plane has landed, we may no longer be permitted to enter the "carousel" area. Thanks for any advice.

My first choice would be the reduce rate lot at the end of the LINK train.
"Reduced Rate Parking Lot – Train platform is located at Viscount Station. Viscount Station is on American Drive, between Viscount Road and Airport Road." Find a spot and then take the short walk to the terminal to catch the train to Terminal 3. This is rarely any fun in the dead of winter with a snow plugged lot and three arms worth of luggage, but in this weather that is not an issue. |

The only problem is dragging that big box from the LINK train to the vehicle.

you said your wife is with you? Just park in the reduced rate lot, take the trian in. Wait for the toddler. Once you guys meet the toddler, walk outside and find a pilar number (their posted on all pillars).
Tell them to wait at the pillar, take the train to the lot and pick them up at the terminal. Or have them take the train with you and pick up the wife and kid from the monorail terminus. |

Thanks for all your responses. This was the first time we had our daughter fly as an unaccompanied minor so we were a little anxious this morning. It's a good thing that she had a reasonably good experience on board the plane.
Everything went well as the steward and stewardess of Cathay Pacific were helpful enough to lug along the big carton and one of her luggages. We knew she couldn't lift those off the carousel and we're glad the Cathay staff were very helpful. We decided to park in the short term parking at Terminal 3 as I only had 2 hours of sleep this morning and my wife agreed that in the interest of time, we'd better not be unreasonably cheap. Surprisingly, because we came half an hour after arrival and only spent at most an hour there -- parking fee was $6.
