Hey there, folks.
I have decided to create this topic, after I had "inspired" that from a post regarding which university is one of you people is planning to attend. For me, I'm heading to study at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario to study Computer Systems Technician. A couple of months ago, I went for a tour of the facility and I really like the library and the fact that the entire college is fully-wireless (meaning you can use your laptop anywhere in the campus). What's more that there's a university on the same grounds. That university is called, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (or UOIT). What I like about Durham College is the transit system. Most Durham Region Transit bus routes serve the college, but the bus route that I like is the Campus 101 bus route. It serves Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, right into the campus. There's also two GO bus routes that serves there. One of them serves Scarborough Town Centre, express to the DC/UOIT campus in Oshawa, and the one that runs thru the Highway 407 bus route (I don't know anything about that route, so if users who had used that route to go to this college/university or any other college/university where the bus route is served, what's your experience?). I heard that my tuition includes a special bus pass which I can used on GO Transit buses (within Durham Region and no GO Trains allowed) and on DRT bus routes, right until the end of April 2007. Anyway, what college are you people heading to? Last edited by mada726; Aug 10th, 2006 at 11:36 AM.. |

Thats funny, Im heading to Seneca @ York studying Computer Systems Technology, CTY, which seems similar to your interest. Cool. We'll see how it goes, I like their new facility though, thats one of the reasons why I chose it, along with the fact that its closest to me, which was the ultimate factor, lol

The reason I have chosen Durham College is because it's quite very close to me (although I need to figure out which bus route that goes there) and the fact they have many cafeterias in the campus (that's what I had remembered when I visited the college last May of this year).
I had the opinion to either go to Seneca College (at their Newham campus on the Finch/404 area in North York) or Centennial College (at the Progress Campus in Scarborough), but transportation routes, along with the sheer timing of classes, proven to be "illogical" for me, so I had settled with Durham College. Did you people know that there is a university on the same grounds in Durham College? That university is called UOIT and it had opened three years ago today in 2003. |

YorkU has at least one pub in every building. Plus there's always The Blade at the York ice arena or Underground at York Lanes...
