I've got an economics exam coming up next week, and I decided that I needed a business calculator that can quickly calculate IRR and other such things. Looked around on Radioshack.ca, officedepot, staples, and figured that my best bet was a Texas Instruments BA II Plus for $39.99 at OD. Staples doesn't have the calculator listed online.
This afternoon, I decided to pop into a Staples while I was on my way to OD (to see if they had anything that wasn't listed online). Sure enough, they had the BA2+ selling for $47.86. The manager (who knows me for bringing ugly PMs his way) was quite pleasant about the PM this time (maybe it's because I got him in trouble with head office a month or so ago...). Anyway, Staples math: (47.86-39.99)*0.5= $3.94 39.99-3.94= $36.05 for a Texas Instruments BA II Plus. It's useful at this point for people in college/university who need a calculator for business or statistical functions. |

For $4? Well, I think there are some financial calculators on <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=78 target=_blank>eBay</a> cheaper
I was thinking about that for my econ exam, but gave up since I really don't see the point of "learning" if you use those "smart" calculators, AND I can't use it for my Act. Science at all Sometimes when they say "Non-programmable calculator", they mean it (so either dumb calculator, or NO calculator, your choice - from my prof)
