Default University of Toronto ROSI Registration Opening

I just wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow, August 18th, U of T (rosi) will allow you to add overload courses (more than 5 credits), as well as some courses previously reserved or restricted to non-major students. Now I can finally add my extra credit to make it 6!

That is odd, I am unable to add some, and was told by the University I have to wait till tomorrow, the 18th!

Why such hatred for ROSI? I don't think it's so bad.

hey, you sure it's tomorrow??
Because everytime I check the registration handbook, it always says second round of enrolment starts on the 22rd.
Plus there's no event on the 18th.
However, if I'm wrong and it does let you add one more course, when exactly would that happen? 0:15? 6:00?

First of all, ROSI is LAZY!!!! and she's SLOWWWWW.

I mean, what kind of crappy server can only stay up 12hours a day? And can't handle a load of 100+ ppl. That's one crappy server.

I think in their eyes, its not worth it to improve the capacity for a handful of days a year. Since they implemented assigned start times, it has been a lot better.

Most people that I hear about who hate rosi are those who didn't do their hw about the restrictions and priorities for a course.

The timetable/course calendar online (which should be up to date) says August 22 for 2nd round of enrollment. I can't add any courses at all right now, so I assume it hasn't started yet. I'm not sure where the 18th came from...

It depends on the courses. If they're all just lecture courses with maybe some tutorials, you're looking at ~20h per week which is easily manageable, but more annoying crunch periods and, of course, another exam to study for (though you may not have exams during both exam periods in all your courses). OTOH, if you already have 3 lab courses (like many first year life sci students) and want to add another course with a lab component, I wouldn't recommend it. Why do you want to take 6 in first year anyway?

You'll need to take 6 courses at one point if you want to do a Major and a Specialist right?

Why would you ever have to take 6 courses? Regardless of your degree, if you're looking at graduating with honours (20 credits) or without (15 credits?), there's no requirement to take 6 courses in any term.

You could do 20 credits in 8 terms @ 5 courses per term.
