Default Which TV would you choose for 1698?

I'm headed to the brick this week to pickup kitchen appliances and figured I'd bundle in a HDTV to try to get a better overall deal. Plus the don't pay for 15months is attractive. I'm trying to decide between the 42" LG Plasma or the 40" Sony Bravia LCD. I'll obviously make my final choice once I see them in person but just wanted some opinions.

Hands down the sony.

Here's why: 1366 x 768....

The LG has a 1024 resolution...that's not real 720 p is it?

Sony, without a doubt. A better TV overall with a higher resolution (720p). Make sure to grab an extensive service plan on top for the TV, just to be sure.
