Default TRU : Buy a DS or Wii game and get 50% off the second game

Starting this friday, Toys R Us is having a sale where you got 50% for a Wii or DS game when you buy one DS or Wii game.

This promotion won't works for PS3 and Xbox 360 games

Not as great as this week promo but warm deal at least !

well not bad if you can apply the kellogg's coupons to each game..
e.g. pick 2 $35 games, apply 2 Kellogg's $5 coupons = $42.50 total for both games

This deal is better if you only want 2 games.

Any idea how the pricing works for the game that is discounted? For instance, if you purchase a DS game for 39.99 and then choose a Wii game for 49.99 would the cheaper game of the two be the one that would receive the 50%?

Pretty much almost always it's the cheaper of the 2 that gets the discount.

It all depends on what you want, of course. But generally speaking, the first-party ("Nintendo"-made) games are of high quality, whether you want platformers (New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Warioland, Super Mario Galaxy), kart racing (Mario Kart Wii, Excitebots), First-person shooters (Metroid Prime), etc.

The reason the Wii has a bad rep for horrible games is because there's a lot of shovelware out there. But there are quite a few underrated games (Zack & Wiki, Madworld, No More Heroes, The Conduit) that weren't really noticed.

Maybe you could check www.gamerankings.com and see the highest-rated games. That should give you a head start.

And thanks for the heads-up, OP. I wish they'd bring back B2G1F...but maybe they can't afford it. :P

Resident Evil 4
Okami
Wii Sports Resort
Super Mario Galaxy
Zelda
Metroid Prime Trilogy

And any highly-rated Gamecube games that you may not have played:

Pikmin 2
I liked "Second Sight" on the GC a lot.
