How much is the 7 course tasting menu ?

I'm thinking of going, but I'm not sure if it would make a difference to go on a Saturday verus weeknight.
Susur does not work on the weekends. Anyone gone on a weekend?

We went twice a couple of years ago on a saturday night and we saw Susur each time.
A few weeks ago, I made reservations there (I later cancelled them) and I have never talked to such a hoyty toyty stuck up reservation taker. I didn't realize he was doing me a favour by answering the telephone.

Well i did not know he was that good all i knew he was a rogue Chef which is my type of guy.
Ah i collect S Class Mercedes and have a home and Business in the Caribbean so he can't really test me there besides BMW's are for school teachers.HaHaHa.

Seriously i have heard that his tasters menu is a bargain though.
The proof of the pie is in the eating so i'll be the judge of that and all those accolades don't add up for me unless i taste.
Tony Bourdain ever been to his place?

I'm going to Susur this weekend. What should I order? Should I just order the 7 course tasting menu? Do I have to dress up? :P

We went a couple of months ago and the 7 course menu was $110. More than filled me up but I'm not a big eater. Best food I've had in Toronto. I heard the only better place is Eigensinn Farm, but I'm having trouble getting reservations.

yeesh, talk about this when I'm away, do ya!?!

Susur's has got that white on white decor with a cool light that changes colour.

Tasting menu is around $120 last I went a couple years back.

Eigensenn's was really nice to go to, but it's far. Veeery tasty though. and the meal is HUGE. I remember thinking, "ah, good, I needed some time to walk around before dessert." when they told us to go walking for 20 minutes... before serving us the main.

O_o!!! <-- full.

ok so i went last night to celebrate my birthday.........for the record people used to pm others on this site to wish them a happy one........no more just shows what it has become.

The man is really good,i was not too overly impressed but he is indeed good.
My companion is raw food so he was challenged and passed with colours.
After he took me for a tour of the kitchens that join both restaurants, the one next dor is also his.
I'll check it out next time, it caters to a more upbeat crowd.
I was the only person with a smile in the rest to tell you.

I will go back again.

The price is a bargain considering what you get and having a chef of that calibre behind the controls.

As for Decor it could be better.

That's cool you got a tour of the kitchens!

For those who don't know, Susur opened up a smaller restaurant you can check out next door.

mentioned in NOW --> http://www.nowtoronto.com/issues/200..._freshdish.php

I may go sometime. Taaasty.

Trini,

Did you order the tasting menu? I think he bumped up the prices over the summer... Was the restaurant busy during your visit?
