Anyone else notice the subway price increase?
I eat there often and the price of a 6" combo went from $6.10 to $6.66, just over 9%. 6" went from $3 to $3.29 and combo from $2.40 to $2.60 or so. I think the prices for double meat and cheese also went up. One good thing is there are still the $5 foot longs (great for splitting, cheap lunch), but I think they will be gone eventually, too. I would love it if they included the roasted chicken for $5 like they do in the states. |

A lot of times, Chains, instead of having gradual price increases, try to keep a certain price for as long as they can, then they have a 'big' price increase. A lot of franchises have actually done a decent job of keeping prices relatively stable, despite increased costs to them (in 2009, a lot of food items cost more to them than they did previously). Pizza & burger franchises have tried to keep prices stable, sometimes I think we expect too much of them in terms of never increasing the price e.g. "I remember when it used to cost X" (inflation, increase in minimum wage, higher property taxes, etc).

the $5 footlongs are no longer $5...$5.49 as someone mentioned above
the 6 inchs are $3.29 now...they also got rid of the $5 combo deal...which was something like 6 inch sub, drink , bag of chips for $5 |

I think Quiznos tastes much better, the only problem is some people say some stores give less meat than usual whenever they do the $5 large special. At the Subway near me, they give very little meat regardless if it's full price or on special, so Quiznos always trumps Subway in terms of meat quantity for me. I feel Quiznos has better quality meats as well.
