Default STREAMING VS DOWNLOADING (Rogers)

Hi

Is there a difference between streaming and downloading in terms of size?

For example, I know that if you download a software of 20mb, then it's 20mb.

But, how about streaming? Will the size be smaller compared to downloading the actual file size??

Thanks

Not really. There's probably some slight overhead (read: more data with the various streaming protocols) but essentially streaming is almost the same concept as downloading with the exception that content is buffered and QoS prioritized where possible and usually broadcast over the RTP protocol which adds sequence and timing information to each packet.

streaming = downloading

there ARE differences but it's not worth it to explain

but here's an easy example

if a movie is 10MB, you can either download it once and watch it 100 times whenever you want and only download 10MB total

OR

you can stream the 10MB movie 5 times on separate occasions and you'll have downloaded 50MB

the next logical question would be, so how can i find out how big a movie is before i stream it?

answer is... i have no idea, sorry.
