Strange noise from brand new Ipod Classic 80gb - will bestbuy take it back?

As soon as it's turned on it makes this noise, sort of like hard drive spinning but MUCH MUCH louder than it should be. It's audible from across the room if the room is quiet. I only bought it 8 days ago, will they take it back?

They give a 14 day return period

What if they tell me I broke it?

tell them they need to care less about their $9/hr job

then ask them if they're calling you a liar... the customer -is- always right
(if you did break it, still return it, but maybe don't break out the liar part, wouldn't be very nice of you)

tell them manufacture defect
