I live in Calgary, and am thinking about getting some snow tires for my wife's minivan.
Does anyone have any comments/advice about snow tires? The thing about Calgary is that we don't necessarily get a whole lot of snow in the winter, but it is definitely cold and icy. Is it worth it to get snows, or can I get by with a good set of all-seasons? My tire guy has recommended that I get the Toyo Observes (a winter tire), does anyone have any other recommendations? |

Now comments to type: 1. Get any. Still better than all-season (ok. there are few top-notch all seasons that behave better than the worst winter. Doubt you have them on the van) 2. What is the tire size ? Some manufacturers don't make certain sizes. And also per-reviews, if one tire is better in one size than the other, with different size the result can be opposite ! 3. Browse/search forums here for links (or http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews...ategory=Winter ) |
