I personally like Sportmart. They have great prices on some equipment that may be a season or two old. I recently got some Rossignol Carve skis that had a MSRP of $599 US for $99 CAD.

I do not know where you are located but if you are anywhere in the GTA than it might be worth your while to drive down to Niagara Falls to a store called Cupolo Sports (you can find their exact address through google). They provide a great servvice and right now they have great prices also. They will get your skis ready on the spot and when I was buying skis for my wife the guy told me if she dose not like them to bring them back and they will find her something else. I got a great deal and I was mad at myself for not willing to take a drive few weeks earlier when I was getting my skis (I got mine from Sportcheck and I am not too happy with them but there is nothing I can do now). So I strongly recommened them.

Try Sport Swap on Yonge. They have a good selection of new and used skis and boots for all levels.

Uhmm gucio321, I wouldn't recommend Cupolo's to anyone right now. They are in receivership right now. Our local paper just ran a huge story on them, how they got into this mess and how they may very well not make it out. If you're absolutely sure what you want and you're going to love it, then go for it. Just remember they may not be there next week or month or year...
