It is because that Costco is a retail store and national wide. Not every city has a Tigerdirect or Newegg store.

What "Hot deals" means? Price only?

Bought this from Costco also.
It's awesome while playing mkv HD movie.

Only thing is it does not play DTS sound. So has to convert the video file first from DTS to stereo. Big mkv file (6GB) cost me 1 hour to convert DTS sound.

NCIX had it for $109.99 a couple of weeks ago.
Have a nice day!

Just run your sound from a dts capable receiver using the optical output on the wd player

This is a HD media player, not a media recorder.

Thanks compass, been waiting for this to go on sale again for less than $100, no PST and $10 gift card/free shipping makes NCIX the way to go!

BTW, site says sale price good until 5/19 but I doubt these will last that long.

Firmware can be flashed with a modded firmware that supports USB-based Ethernet adapters and wireless adapters.

See here.

Thanks. Nice. If I can only find a good deal on WD Passport drives. Cancelled my Amazon order a few months back for a $99 320GB

EDIT: Oh, wait a minute, by flashing the firmware, this device can actually read off ethernet-based and wireless networks with the right adapter? Will Wireless G be enough to stream HD Movies?

Tempting to get it from Costco just so I don't have to deal with shipping and worry about return isses with Costco. But the price at NCIX sounds good.

Not the best price, but you get Costco's return policy
