The E8400 upgrade price is reasonable and it's one of the fastest dual-core CPUs around !

The "discount details" page isn't really the most reliable in terms of expiry dates. Sometimes offers last 2 weeks, sometimes 1, and sometimes they get yanked early, despite the "discount details". If you're interested in the system, I wouldn't assume it'll be there on September 18.

350W is plenty for these types of machines with onboard video and a couple of drives.

I am thinking just how many these E2x00 and E4x00 CPUs Dell has in their inventory ? The cheaper and faster E5200 is showing up already ... Dell (and others) has to clear these older CPUs fast ... I think they have to give even better discount ...

like willy said, 350W should be enough.

you should look at some of the older retail PCs... they come w/ like 250-300W.
i remember buying a clearance Acer and inside case came w/ only 250W PSU

this one is even nicer than the e8300 that just arrived for $389.

oh well, i guess that's always gonna happen with electronics/cpu's.

maybe i should take advantage of the 30day return policy?

I haven't seen that option on any Vostro line. You might have better luck if you called into customer service. They might do it for you.

Cheers,
Kilo.
