If you have the mobile browsing feature on your Rogers plan ($7 on PAYG) since this is just a glorified regular cellphone with wap access it'd be a much cheaper way to check e-mail or surf the web compared to the real Iphone and their plans.

The big downside to the Sciphones I've seen is that they use a pripority headphone jack however since they support bluetooth a2dp a pair of wireless headphones can fix that.

Remember this is not an actual Iphone nor is it comparable to the Iphone in any way. Basically it's a glorified cellphone with a big ass screen for viewing the internet via wap however it does have a basic MP3 player plus a 640x480 camera. It also plays videos in 3GP format at least (perhaps MP4 but I don't know the specs on that).

It looks like they've ripped off the interface but, since the horsepower inside these things is that of an average cellphone, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't support video like the iphone (but it appears to support 3gp video) and def won't support Iphone apps etc

Agreed. However I've found wifi devices useless since, unless you're in a dense area, there doesn't seem to be any free wifi ports around (at least around where I live).

However the unltd wap access has more than made up for that to me.

Someone claims to own both and says it's the official version however if you've found something more conclusive that it's a "fake" Sciphone I'd def be interested in hearing about it esp since I'd be interested in installing Opera Mini on it if I don't like the stock browser and I know it works on the old version.

The specs don't list java btw but it does show java on the box, device and the person who said he has both does say both versions support java.

Can someone point me to a "Windows Xp" "Clone" ?... or is that illegal ?!

You're gonna have to also ask FS, BB, RCSS and quite a few other joints the same question because I've seen Nano clones at all those shops. RCSS even sells a Touch clone.

For Goodness sake, do not buy this SCIphone form Deal Xtreme. This "SCIphone" is not the "real" Sciphone, but a terrible clone of a clone. The real Sciphone is 3.2 inch screen and this one is only 3.0 inch, the quality of this "fake" is so bad that it only lasts for 2 weeks. They even intentionally spell the name wrong. Deal Xtreme sells two "Sciphone", the fake one costs $94 with crappy battery, crappy LCD, and short life span. The othe one is like Catch 22, with 50% of chance getting the "real" Sciphone. I would advise people to not buy Sciphone at that place, so many horror stories from customers getting fakes. (You can read that at DX) forum

Remeber the real Sciphone i68+ is only made by Bluelan and there is an official customer service and product forum, (lots of information included, please read them before you buy, or else you will regret it for getting a "fake")
