Default Router choice

HI,

Recently bought the Dlink DI-624. After rebate will come to $78.35.

After reading some reviews I hear the Linksys is good as well. Some people say they really like the Dlink, others say the Linksys is better.

Any thoughts. I havent opened the router yet so I may return it. Just wanted to get one to use with my new laptop I receive tomorrow.

So any votes.

Linksys or Dlink

seems kinda expensive for that router.

I personally like USR, and i have heard good things about linksys.
heard some bad things about dlink too. But it really depends on your luck.

but i think for your price you can get a much cheaper router. I know the USR will be on sale for 39.99 AR at FS on boxing day.

Thats taxes in and all. Have you seen a cheaper price, and if so where, because Ill gladly price match staples.

I may return it and try to get something with the Boxing Day sales tonight.

Has anyone found the Dlink DI-624 Wireless router cheaper than $69.95 after $50 mail-in rebate.

Ive been searching the Boxing day flyers. Any good Wireless G router deals. I cant seem to see any.

Default Linksys vs D-Link

I find the firmware in Linksys to be a lot more flexible than the D-Link routers.

I was helping a freind with his D-Link the other day. I found the admin GUI to be much more confusing and hard to use. My linksys has alot more stuff to play with, and is a much cleaner interface.

My vote would be with Linksys.

We have abbout 50/50 for Dlink and Linksys.

I found out that if you ant extended range with the Dlink you cna just put in a different antenna because it screws in and out, while the Linksys you need a bridge or extender. Just something I read somewhere

Bump before I open the box. Anyone see this cheaper, or have horror stories about the Dlink

I have to say Linksys. Better in the config dept. and is stable.

Had a SMC router before my Linksys. The SMC went dead after a year or so.

For D-Link, dunno. Heard both good and bad. But since I never actually used or tested one, can't say anything on D-Link.

Thanks for putting up this post Spidey.

Same dilemna I'm facing. The linksys with speedboooster is going to work out to be about 45$ more than the Dlink extreme G after MIR. I googled and came across a review from one of the computer review/mag sites. Anyways the gist of it was Linksys wireless G with speedbooster was the overall winner. Their closer details suggested that the linksys had better range. I'm probably going to goo with the linksys since I've had good success with my previous linksys router and modem.
