Default Road Trip For Love

I was dating a girl in Calgary and I lived in Vancouver. We had met each other on the internet and probably saw each other once a month. Since long distance calls were expensive about 8 years ago we kept in daily contact over the internet. Kiran really wanted me to come down for Valentines but as you probably know winter driving in BC & Alberta can be quite the adventure plus I had to attend classes at University. I told my best friend about how Kiran wanted me to come to Calgary for Valentines and he suggested that he was going to help me and when I heard his suggestion I was like are you crazy. My friend Mike suggested that we both drive to Calgary and call it a "Road Trip" but there was one problem, neither of us had our own car and there is no way in hell my parents were going to let a 20 year old take off to Calgary during the late Winter. So Mike designed a plan for us to rent a car for 7 days and since neither of us had a credit card we had my cousin gladly help us financially. Now the plan was in place but Kiran had no idea of what was going to take place. Oh I forgot to mention that I had an exam to write the morning of our departure and because I was so excited and scared at the same time I failed my exam and eventually the course! The morning after I wrote my exam I emailed Kiran that I was busy and that I will chat with her tonight and I had something serious to talk about. Kiran had a late class so my plan was for me and Mike to arrive at the University of Calgary and get on a computer and chat with Kiran. So we left Vancouver around 10am the roads were terrible and we witnessed a dozen accidents. Me and Mike felt we had to make up time so Mike made a deal with me that if we speed and get a ticket its going to be 50/50 and guess what we got pulled over in Golden, BC but I really didn't care because I was going to see Kiran. So we finally arrived in Calgary its approx 9pm. Me and MIke quickly rush to the University and get on a computer and thankfully Kiran was on. We started chatting and I asked her where she was sitting to get an approximate location so that I could surprise her. She told me of her location and me and Mike rushed in to the computer lab. When I saw Kiran she looked up for a moment and then looked down and quickly looked up again. She was in total shock and couldn't believe what she was looking at. She jumped out and screamed and ran over to me. I gave her a big hug and a kiss. Yes I failed my course, yes I got a speeding ticket but the adventure with Mike and seeing Kiran was the most memorable Valentine's ever.

Q: Does Mike have the hots for you? It seems more like a roadtrip "man-date".

Iconshot THe Final Countdown!!

Two years after the Road Trip I proposed to Kiran on Valentines day when she visted me in Vancouver. I had everything planned ahead of time. I picked her up from the airport and asked her if she could pass me my glasses in the glove capartment and inside there was a gift wrapped up & she looked at me and I was like go ahead open it and it was sunglasses and along with a poem that read " Today is Valentines Day"
" its going to be special so get ready to play"
" I'm going to take you to the something terrific"
" the place is called Pan __________" (Pacific)
Pan pacific was the hotel i reserved for us to spend our special day. So we arrived at the Pan Pacific hotel and before I left I called the hotel to have all the candles lit in my room and when Kiran walked in she saw a vase of 24 roses along with a basket of chocolates littered all over the bed and a huge huge card. She was estatic and when she opened up the card inside was another poem that read
"Dam sexy girl I missed you so much"
" the giggles, the laugh and your sweet touch"
" So please get ready for your next surprise"
" If you look high enough you might see it with your eyes"
The next surprise was grouse mountain a place for skiing in the winter and romance in the spring and summer. So anyways we get on the gondola to the mountain and when we reached the top i pulled out a small note for Kiran to read:
" Ok by now things are getting pretty slick"
" the next adventure will invovle a flying trick"
" so close your hands until i count to 7"
" we both are going to fly over the heaven"
The surprise was a Helicopter tour over the city of Vancouver from Helijet and it was amazing. I was worried about it raining but the weather held its own. So we flew for 20 minutes over Vancouver cause that was the cheapest package haha. anyways when we landed i told blind folded Kiran one last time we walked over to an area where i got down on one knee with candles lit around us. I propsed and she said yes and started to cry then a huge roar of laugter and clapping started. My friend Mike and I had informed both families of the event and with their efforts everything went as planned and they were the ones who had the candles all prepared for our landing. WHen I look back I was pretty smooth but its funny how things change as you get older!!
