Default Renovating house: how to recycle disposed materials?

I was wondering if there is a use for square wooden tiling and marble floor, roof shingles?

My parents are planning on doing renovations really soon.

Thanks.

Check with your local Habitat for Humanity Re Store. Shingles, if they are used, definitely not. Possibly, depending on various thing for the marble and parquet. You could also try posting an offer for the flooring on your local FreeCycle group...

aw man, too bad.

I thought they could be reused for tires, rubber products, road material etc...

Get a large shredder. The wooden tiling & shingles can be shredded and re-compressed to make logs for the fireplace. Marble floor can be crushed and made into padding for walkways.

I am pretty sure I have seen kitchen counter top that was made from crushed marble tile mixed with some kind of epoxy to create a solid surface. Actually looked very stylish.

Probably not for what you are listing...try home again or something similar...

Now if you were trying to sell a marble bathroom countertop, kitchen cabinets, old windows or doors (if you are in an older house)...then home again would be a good bet to take them...I know that I head there when I try to find an older door for our house...new sizes just don't fit....

There are guys who run businesses to take away recyclable housing material. Maybe look in the phone book under recycling or something.
I know of a guy in the Midland area (I know that's not in your area) who will take down buildings and resell what he can.
