Recycling DVD-R/CD-R coasters

Coasters. We've all got 'em. Is there a place that recycles 'em?

I was just about to toss a toaster into the trash, but was curious if they were recyclable or not. They seem to be, according to some brief googling, but I'm not sure where to send them.

Are there any places in Canada or, to be more me-specific, in Vancouver where I can take a bunch of old coastered CD-R/DVD-Rs? I've got quite a few lying around and it'd be nice to get them recycled instead of just tossing them into the garbage.

We use them for projects at daycamp with the kids every summer. I typically post on Criagslist asking for donations of CD coasters at the beginning of summer but I wouldn't mind starting early.

I'm in Vancouver as well and wouldn't mind taking them off your hands. Better than junking them. How many do you have?

weird never seen one of those boxes in store before.

bestbuy also recycles them. And FYI city of Markham recycles types 1 through 7 plastic.

Thank-you rchong and jayk for making aware of the FS/BB recycling program. I was searching for a place to recycle all my CD's.

by the way we all know how easy it is to damage CD cases.

I believe they are type 6 plastic meaning if you know a facility that recycles styrofoam and type 6 plastic, then by all means chuck them in too.

Just be careful, these things are sharp when the break, and shardes shoot out.

as far as I know, we can't put styrofoam into blue boxes in markham, it has to go to one of the recycling depots. Do the CD jewel cases have to go there too?

Does Bestbuy/Futureshop accept shredded discs or do they need them to be fully intact? I tried checking their sites for information, but found nothing.
